It's mostly tips on where to buy appliances in Egypt.

Somehow, I can't stop laughing at this comment.:lol:

Thx!

Reminds me of that movie "Father of the Bride", when she got a blender as a wedding gift and called off the wedding because she thought it implied she would be doing womanly duties.

Depends on what the appliance is! Some types of "appliances" are hard to bring in to the country if they are xraying your baggage . . . you definitely don't want to put those in your carry-on :lol: . . . but not sure you could buy those types in Egypt anyway. ;)

Are we talking like blow dryers and curling irons? Or stoves and refrigerators?

I belong to 2 groups. One is for wives of middle-eastern men. It has been a group for several years and a wonderful bunch of ladies. Some own houses in both countries and we discuss food and the best way of shipping things between here and there. This group I will stay with, the other I left today.

It was mostly food processors and smoothie makers  Not sure why a smoothie maker is of utmost importance in Egypt of all places (third world country..more important issues than smoothie makers I'd think). Use a blender for Pete's sake! No offense to those who love their smoothie makers (F)

I can see how major appliances would be important for those who live in Egypt. I do not so it is of no interest. Oh BTW..some of the best places in Egypt for these are Omar Effendi (junk if you ask me) and for small appliances..Carrefour.

I was in a group for women married to Moroccans and to be honest it was a bust. The visa information given was so wrong that it was really a shame. It was more of a cheering group where no one wanted to hear any truths about Moroccan men.

I started a group in Yahoo but it was pretty much bust since no one posts there. :P

I belong to a couple of groups ..I don't post in them but I do read them from time to time. Some of the information I have found very helpful. I would recommend ppl join groups that have to do with their situations and if they help, then nothing lost. If they don't help, well, at least they gave it a try. I do like my groups though (they have died out a bit...but the ppl in them are all fantastic ladies)

Visited Jordan-December 2004

Interview-December 2005

Visa approved-December 2005, 1 week later after supplying "more information"

Arrived U.S.A.-December 2005

Removed Conditions-September 2008

Divorced in December 2013

Maybe you should have it go public, you might get a more diverse lot of women.
