Hi everyone!!

My fiancee just got a letter in the mail saying that our folder has been TRANSFERRED to the Texas office (after sitting in the Vermont office for exactly 5 months!)

All the letter says is that it got transferred because it is under the Texas jurisdiction, which doesn't really make much sense because we originally sent it to the Texas office who then sent it to Vermont (?). We presented our folder in febraury and nothing happened in 5 full months, so we were really hoping to be getting close to receiving the NOA2. Now we are terrified that those 5 months did not count and now we have to wait 5 more for our paperwork to get processed!!!

Anybody have any experience on this or any words or advice??? We are kind of freaking out right now, any information will be much appreciated.

Thank you so much!!!!!!

M.

ps: I am attaching the status I see on my case in the USCIS official website.

You mailed it to a Dallas lockbock, not the Texas Service Center. That's different. All petitions are to be mailed to the Dallas lockbock, then, as you stated, it is sent to a service center - the Vermont Service Center in your case.

Since then, most petitions dated in February, including yours, was sent from the Vermont Service Center to the Texas Service Center for processing, due to a heavy backlog issue at Vermont. Yours is one of thousands. There are several threads on this in this forum. You do not need to worry, yours should be processed within the next month or two along with the others.
