We're going to apply for ROC in a few months, but I'm already gathering all the documents I can. This is all we have and my main concerning is that we don´t have life insurance, and even though my husband has medical and dental insurance, he hasn´t added me because it's expensive and he couldn´t afford the payments. My name is not in the car registration and car insurance either.

I talked to my husband about this but he said he can do nothing for the reasons I mentioned before.

We don´t pay utility bills, given that we´re renting a bedroom, so the landlord pays for everything. By the way, should the landlord mention this in his affidavit? (I´m going to ask him to write one).

I´m stressed , thinking that we could get a RFE.

This is what I'm going to send in my packet. All opinions are welcome, please!

- Copy of my GC.

- Copy of my State ID.

- Joint bank account statements from 2011, 2012, 2013.

- Federal taxes for 2011 and 2012 (filled jointly).

- Copies of checks (tax refunds)

- Same for State Taxes.

- Copy of DMV fee payment to take the written test.

- Copy of my instruction permit.

- Copies of letters mailed to my husband

- Copies of letters mailed to me

- Copies of letters sent to both of us.

- Copies of registration payments for English school , which show my name and address.

- Copies of receipts of parcels that my mom has sent to me.

- Copies of subpoenas sent to my husband and me( to testify as witnesses in a divorce case).

- Copy of jury duty summons mailed to me.

- Copy of receipt of my husband's car smog inspection, showing his address.

- Copy of letter from Social Security office, when I changed my name in my SS card.

- Copy of letter from Social Security office, mailed to my husband (because he requested a copy of his SS card).

- Copy of rental agreement.

- Affidavits from our landlord and other tenant.

- Copies of hotel receipts.

- Copies of tickets for the train, zoo, county fair, boat trips.

- Photos together.

back at the bank, there are 'payable on death' instructions. since it's a joint account, you could get those set and then include the printouts from the bank.

Must to go in person, however.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I don't think it's going to be an issue. Some other ideas (if you have them) are: copies of Christmas cards addressed to both of you, common credit card statements and/or copies of credit cards with the same number on the cards (if one of you have a credit card you can add the other person as authorized user with no additional cost), payslips with address, your husband's state ID with the same address

Your list looks great! Keep scouring on here to get some ideas--alot of folks do the usual (that you've listed), but literally, the more the merrier!

Also-don't stress about getting an RFE! It's the officer's job to carefully review every package that comes in! You're here for a legit reason (ie yay getting married!) so prove it; you have absolutely nothing to lose if you came here in good faith!

All of the above brought to you by someone who did recently get an RFE (and submitted what they wanted) :) -I'm here with my fantastic husband, and I am more than happy to let them know it-I even offered to go to an interview and/or provide more evidence if they wanted in my cover note w. my RFE evidence :) It's all good! Chin up, hug your spouse, and enjoy!!!

Thanks for the encouragement, M613!

You know, my husband has a practical viewpoint about this . He says that not because we don´t have all the stuff that other couples have(mortgage, loann, credit cards, etc.) ,that doesn't mean our marriage is not real. Yes, we both know it's real and in good faith.
