They should have been able to figure out the last 4 digits. I've never had to write them out, but I've forms automatically fill them out for me. I think you'd just better make sure your address is actually written correctly (for instance if you live on South Marble Street, maybe it's written S Marble St or maybe it's written Marble St S or South Marble St...) People tend to short hand things but each city and county will short hand them differently.

Hi All,

Did any of you paid the fee via ELIS lately?

I got my visa issued on March 9th and finally it is in my hand :)

On the big sealed package there are instruction on how to pay the immigrant fee through USCIS Elis

I logged in and inserted my A number and DOS number but it keeps giving me the following error message:

"The A-Number or DOS Case ID you entered is incorrect. Please enter the A-Number and DOS Case ID listed on the USCIS Immigrant Fee handout you received from the U.S. Embassy or consulate.ERROR: NOTE: If your visa was issued less than five (5) days ago, you may not be able to pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee at this time. Based on the date you entered, we recommend that you log into your USCIS ELIS account on or after March, 25, 2015 to pay the fee"

I am sure i am putting the correct data (i have checked and tried a million times)

I have also put the zero '0' in the A number between the A and the digits..

Do you know what i do wrong? Did you have the same problem?

Hey guys what a wealth of knowledge on this thread. well done.. frankly a bit overwwhelming

I didn't realise that ELIS was also a tracking tool, here's my timeline:

Visa rcvd 02/20/15

ELIS fee 02/26/15

PoE Houston 02/28/15

Optimized 03/04/15

I cant track my receipt # on USCIS website (throws an error). Do you think it has been stuck a bit too long on Optimized? My address changed between filing for visa and PoE and I mentioned this to the CBP officer (is that a cause of concern)

By the way who still takes finger print on a paper?

No it's not an error, i could never track anything via the USCIS website.

Your fingerprint will show up on the green card... the green card itself is kinda neat.

Normally only takes a week or two after optimized but it depends on the visa type sometimes. I would call on Monday and see what's up.

HI Guys,

so... apparently I'm stuck in limbo... USCIS case status changed to card being produced on Feb 6th, (although it was touched last on Feb 11th according to ELIS).

And since then... NOTHING... I found it super unsual since most people go from card being produced to card being shipped within a few days... and just not my case...

So I've been calling and calling and being set over to tier 2... and well... to no avail... all they say is that card being produced has no time expiration... and then another just asked me to wait... but... it's been over 60 days from payment. (although I think they take into consideration POE which was in mid january anyway.... and nothing... march is almost over and not a peep out of them...

I called yesterday and I got a tier 2 to enter a service request and supposedly I should be getting something inthe mail within the next 2 weeks...

I'm not sure if I can go ahead and just submit an I-90... because... well... I just need a new green card with my married name anyway... so I can get SSA to correct that since they couldn't adjust my name since they said they have to keep it exactly as Immigration has it (which is wrong in any case... I don't have a middle name and they put my second name as middle name... spanish naming customs...)

I would HATE to have to pay 450 dollars to correct this... but... does anybody know if I can submit an I-90 and claim the card lost and ask for a name change both at the same time?

Thanks guys! :)

Contact your congressman or senator to get the card produced. If you need a name changed then you have to pay the $450 for it unless it is their mistake. Your visa should have had both of your last names in the last name spot and your first name in the given names spot. Was it like this?

It normally takes 1-3 months after POE to get your hard copy green card.

If you haven't gotten your SSN card in 2 weeks you can go to an SSA office to get one.

Visa came with given names --- name one--- name two.

and last names: one --- and two..

which I would be OK with... except for SSA telling me USCIS (or border patrol... I don't know who it was) f- up :S

according to SSA, immigration (the lady that I spoke with said INS... which hasn't existed for years...) actually have my second given name as middle name... so they could only adjust my name to whatever immigration has... otherwise their system wouldn't allow them to make any changes... (which is silly... but anyway...)

Yeah need a name change so I'll have to pay the 450 anyway, but since my card with my single name has yet to arrive, I don't know if I need to send back my old card (the one I don't have yet...) or if I can just do the i-90 now and have both the card and the correct info in immigration so SSA can adjust their info too...

Thanks! :)

Well you could visit a CBP office and have them correct the save database. Then wait for your ROC to change your name on the green card.

You can still get your married name on things with your marriage certificate, even if the green card is different

My status was at optimized before POE. Status details are: Your application/petition has been accepted and is pending review.

I tried entering the 13-digit receipt number into the USCIS Case Status Online website and it said it didn't recognize the number entered.

Is this normal?

Thanks!

It was written correctly. We don't live on a big street with North, South, East or West divisions, just a small residential drive with apartments. I think it was more the Post Office being silly for not just going with the first 5 digits immediately - perhaps a machine scanned it and was like "WHAT IS THIS MADNESS" and automatically changed the tracking to undeliverable, then when an actual human got hold of it, they figured it out right away :P but it was silly of USCIS to put the 0000 at the end in the first place IMO.

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

Thanks @NLR

Do you reckon the wait after being optimied is normal?

As you can see in my signature below, my status was on Optimized from Dec 24th to March 4th. Way above the normal wait time of a week or two, but my card got here in the end. I did badger a Tier 2 officer from USCIS about 2 weeks before the status changed, but I don't know if it helped or not.
