Does anyone know the phone menu options to select to talk to USCIS about green card status? Sitting through those interminable menus is so painful. Also, is the beneficiary required to be present for those phone calls?

The beneficiary is the one who should be making the call because it's YOUR green card. There should be a number on the elis website on how to contact them. If you're just calling the USCIS speak to a tier 2. To do so call, don't say or push any buttons, someone will come on speaking spanish. then say english please. The next person ask for a immigration services officer (ISO)

Here is an update: As per USPS tracking and earlier USCIS case update the card was delivered back to USCIS on Aug 16. However the case status got updated today to the following:

On August 25, 2014, the post office returned your Card as undeliverable. We will hold it for 180 days from August 25, 2014 to allow you time to contact us. If you do not contact us at 1-800-375-5283 within 180 days, this document will be destroyed and you will need to file a new application or application for replacement with fee.

Called USCIS today and confirmed once again, the zip code is correct on my address. Hopefully the card will be sent to the correct zip code (unlike the last 2 times)

Yesterday, they stated her card was in production. Wishing everyone the best of luck, with no (more) headaches.

Ive read the visit to ssa triggers the movement for greencard production.Went there on a monday and like the others,my middle name was blank and it was with my first name instead.Hope its already fixed.As of today,elis says optimized!yahoo

Congrats! I hope that's what happens for us. We had the name issue and finally had it fixed at Social Security this Tuesday the 26th, maybe we'll get lucky and have some movement on ELIS soon.

Wow,that was quick for you.Checked the mailbox yesterday,no ssc for me .I hope it is really fixed.Ive read some horror stories about going to uscis/cbp etc just to get this name issue done.I can wait a week more though I will start looking for jobs.

Just finished reading some topics in your blog.I am so glad you finally have tom's ssc.I am so scared right now because i have two first name and one middle and they put it all in one line.I have faith in the lady that processed it as she showed me the printout of what she did to correct it but I wouldnt expect a lot.I am expecting a letter from ssa telling me to go to uscis/cbp or to go back to the manila embassy to have them fix it,lol.I surrender and will just let me US citizen husband handle this as this is becoming more stressful.Also sent two emails to ssa hopefully i will get replies after the holiday.

No offense taken at all, I wouldn't wish our experience on anyone. We really never expected any of this and it's been a horrible setback while we're just trying to get him settled in and adjusted in a new life. Let me know how it goes for you, wishing you all the best!

judging from this thread, the SSN# isn't automatically sent out for some CR-1 visa holders after POE?

Nope, doesn't work smoothly for everyone. Seems like lately a lot of people have been getting theirs really soon after POE though, things apparently work the way they're supposed to a lot of the time.
