Unbelievable! USCIS again made a mistake in zip code entry (off by one digit) and USPS returned the mail to USCIS as undeliverable.

Here is my updated timeline:

ELIS fee paid: May 28

POE: June 7

ELIS optimized: July 3

Card Production Ordered: July 29

Card mailed: Aug 4 (undeliverable due to wrong zip code) USCIS error :-(

Address correction done by USCIS: Aug 8 (as per USCIS case update)

Card undeliverable as per USPS - 2nd time mistake in zip code by USCIS: Aug 14

Something funky in my case too. It was undeliverable in first place since we moved. We changed the address online,, calling, and also put two service request. On 13th, the status was changed to initial review saying address was changed. Today, I got another update saying the post office returned undeliverable and call to update the address. I don't know if they resent it or if the update is regarding the first undelivered scenario. When the card was sent back to TX center, the status said delivered to address on file. Who knows what is going on

Elis Fees paid: 06/04/2014

PoE - 06/06/2014

SSN Received: 06/16/2014

Elis Optimized 07/01/2014

Elis Closed 07/29/2014

Green card mailed 08/01/2014

USPS reports undeliverable 08/02/2014

Called USCIS and gave new address 08/05/2014

Good luck for getting your card!

In our case in both instances the letter went to the wrong zip code (as per USPS tracking and as confirmed by talking to the post office in those zip codes). We received a letter from USCIS confirming the address change on Aug 8 after our call on Aug 6 after the first time the card was returned as undeliverable). So we know the address has the correct zip code in USCIS system. This was also confirmed in our call to USCIS. Hopefully they will get it right the third time!

Great! After spending 6 weeks sitting on my butt waiting on the GC to appear I just found out I would need to pay the $165 fee beforE they start processing the card. I came back with my mother all the way from my vaca to get this darn card and just signed for 2 months apartment rent so we can be all together somewhere outside the US after we get her green card. Oh boy, then now it appeared to me that her SSC is still not mailed as we'll. I guess I would have to sign for a month extension for the apartment.

I will definitely go to SSO tomorrow with mom and get this all done. Anyone know what else to bring aside from her passport?

Also, I applied her I-131 re-entry permit last week.. How many weeks till they schedule for biometrics

Got an email update on 18th August that case status has changed - the card was produced and mailed. A few hours later got another update with the USPS tracking number.

A few minutes ago (19th August) the card was delivered by the mail man. All information in the card is correct with no issues. ;)

It also came with a "Welcome to the United States - A Guide for New Immigrants" leaflet, a small paper sleeve to keep the card protected and a bar-coded Notice sheet (on which the card was attached) - to be used in case I need to apply for an extension or replacement card. :)

Glad to be done for now!!

Good Luck to all those who are waiting.

Why are you needing the reentry permit? No idea how long it takes for biometrics. I've never stayed outside the USA long enough to need a re-entry permit.

Check the SSN forum and SSA website as to what you need foe the SSN. You can print off the application before you go.

Ok, my husband had some errors made at POE, and I'm not sure what effect they might have. Hopefully none but I guess we'll find out!

May 23 - ELIS fee paid

July 2 - POE

ELIS shows status as "accepted" but I can't use my IOE number on the USCIS case status page ("case cannot be found at this time"). Now we're waiting and hoping his green card arrives sometime this year :no:

Without access to your account you can't keep track. :( call and ask them to reset your pw.

Yes, probably normal. Have you paid the $165 fee already?

I was also unable to access my ELIS account online. You need to call USCIS and connect to an operator (hit 1-2-2-2) and then ask to be transferred to the technical help desk because your online ELIS account is locked. Explain to the help desk that you need to track your green card production status online but have forgotten your password and security questions. They will email you a link to reset all your info so you can use the site again. Editing to note: beneficiary must call or be present when the petitioner calls to authorize this.

My card is stuck in Texas Service center after it was returned undelivered. We received the mail from TX stating that they updated our records. Talking to tier2, it seems like they move the card from service center to a warehouse and then only it would be mailed. There was specific time frame given. Is this usual? Anyone with the same experience of card returned back to TX?

My husband did pre-clearance at Dublin as well. How was your experience there? We thought it would be a great time saver and generally less stressful than going through POE in Boston, but the mistakes they made entering his info into the system in Dublin have set us back weeks. I'll definitely be in touch if we get any movement. I'm checking daily at this point and hoping we move to optimized soon :clock:
