sure - ask your petitioner/sponser to go over it with you - sometime this week. stats are important and we not have many FB-4 designees here.

Just checked Elis it says:On June 11, 2014, we mailed the new card directly to the address we have on file. You should receive your new card within 30 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

The Green Card was through my brother I see that there are not any sibling 4th category cases here but it took 13 years and six months to get everything through my brother and finally its all over now.

We POE on may 27th and still not optimized, the I-551 in the passport just has an admitted stamp on the opposite page with no comments or writing! Is that supposed to be the endorsement? Can't get Arizona drivers permit with passport and Social Security cards

The VISA in your passport serves as the I-1551 for a year. It says on it that it does, you can show it to the drivers license office folks and they should accept it.

Hi Sirius, went to DMV yesterday and she said that I was not a permanent resident and there is no such thing as a green card. Said I needed an I94W to get a drivers permit. As far as I remember, I94W is a temporary visa.

Either go to a different DMV or ask to talk to a supervisor because that woman is a moron.

Indeed, she is a moron or just ignorant.

I have heard of people having this issue in other states as well, someone from Nebraska ran into the same problem once.

In fact, last week I was having this problem whilst trying to open a bank account at BoA! It took 4 hours to convince them that the visa stamp is actually a green card. My advice is, to print out the actual list of documentation requirement for a drivers license. Then highlight the part that reads "this serves as I-551 for a year...". Until I did that, they were not taking my word for it and wanted me to show a physical green card.

Because they couldn't look at the visa/green card and read that? LOL

I sigh at this sometimes... really I do. We shouldn't have this much of an issue with any of it, and yet there always seems to be a next step or person who's waiting to be informed because they just don't know or don't care to. I'd like to not have to educate people on the immigration process, but I don't think it's something most people would know about unless they have to go through it either, so it'll continue to happen whenever we want SSNs, driver's licenses, bank accounts, credit cards, jobs, etc...

(btw, I mean the general public, not the people who are going through the process.)
