Have you applied for an SSN yet?

Also you haven't yet been here a month, don't be worried. Don't even think about worrying until the 3 month mark.

Hi NLR, I went into my ELIS page and looked at my profile and noticed the address part was completely empty. I was a bit dumbfounded, I wouldn't leave that empty if it had come up when I was signing up. Was this something I should have noted before and filled in? I have updated it now with my address and even uploaded my id. At no point did I receive any communication from USCIS regarding this. Do you think this maybe the reason for the delayed? I would hate to think so, cause I would expect some message in my message center asking to fill those details in - but there's nothing. Just wanted to know if everyone else had a similar experience?

Likely not. Mine was completely empty (you do not have to update with any ID for a simple address update.) I updated it to make sure that there were no issues as to where to send the green card. Just a precaution on my part, but one I've thought to pass along.

BTW you only POE'd maybe 5 weeks ago... It's not really delayed yet. Remember your endorsed visa is your temporary green card for 1 year. ;)

Hi everyone,

My husband just received a notice in the mail to appear for a biometrics appointment in Cleveland on Friday. He is really stressed out. I told him not to worry but I am also a little concerned.

What does this mean and is this a common event nowadays??

Thanks!

I am the petitioner.

When i contacted USCIS about the status of the card 3 weeks back, i got an email from TSC saying that they are waiting for biometrics to be scheduled and will send a notice about the application center my wife has to go to.

Last week status of my case changed top optimized and uscis case status for I55A (which is Immigrant visa fee that you pay) changed to Card production.

Today, i got an email from USCIS with USPS tracking saying that they mailed the card today and should receive it in a week. USPS tracking says it should reach on Wednesday of this week.

Honestly not sure what is going on and will know when the card comes by mail on Wednesday. I guess for some people they might need another round of biometrics. Don't know the reason though.

Feb 15th: Accepted.

POE: April 10th.

April 21st : Accepted (But date changed to April 21st from Feb 15th)

May 12th: Optimized

May19th: Closed.

So ~3 weeks from accepted to optimized since they start the clock only after POE.

Right...USCIS case status (cris) page finally tells me new card in production today. Nearly 2 months after being told a new one would be ordered after production of previous one failed! (POE 26 Dec, rest of family received cards 24 Feb.) hope this one makes it :)

Hi guys. Im really worried about my GC.

I already paid the USCIS fee on April 1, 2014 and I arrived here in the US on April 22, 2014.

I'm still on the "accepted" bubble in USCIS ELIS. I need help guys :( Please.

You have nothing to worry about I came here in January paid a week after arrival and still on optimized.

Just to add an update, got a call from the congresswoman's office today - it appears that they did in fact spur the production, and have been told to call them back directly if the card does not arrive in the time promised.
