LOL you guys are funny. They probably did put your file inthe system since you called. Most people likely don't, but then since you have the temporary green card for a year and with the CBP telling people it'll take 6 months, most don't rush.

My mom's POE was on August 2, no card as of yet. I called on Dec.16 and last week (beginning of January) we received a letter with apologies for the delay. It also stated that it will take an additional 60 days (from the date of my call, mailing or receiving the letter - not clear) for the card to be produced. I guess I should call again soon.

Had a question that I hope someone can help with. My wife had her POE on 12/16/13 and ended up paying our visa fee on 12/21/13. She had checked the box on the DS-260, but has still not received her Social Security card. It seems that even with the holidays that she should have received it by now. I know the green card is taking upwards of three months or so, but right now she cannot get her drivers license without the ss#. So far my wife has called both the SS department (who told her to wait 45 days even though their website says three weeks), and the USCIS who told her to fill out the form to get the SS #. Does anyone have any thoughts as to what I can do? Thanks.

go to SSA office, in person.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

yaaaay !! I check my case status this morning and I'm so happy because I found that on january 13 the production of my new card began & I should allow 30 days to receive my card !! hope I wil receive it soon star_smile.gifstar_smile.gif

Great. Did you find that message in ELIS website? Mine is in process since Dec 10 and still no green card yet. I called last Friday and talked to tier 2 officer. He said I should allow 30 days to receive my card. But ELIS shows the same as "in process".

Hi All,

Need your expert advice!

12/20/2013 - Paid USCIS Immigrant Fee on ELIS - Case status - Accepted date Dec 20

12/21/2013 - POE -Canada/USA Land Border - Lewiston Bridge

I haven't gotten anyting, neither the Welcome letter and nor the Green Card. I did go to the SSN but I did not take the SSN as there were some updated required to my name and the CBP officer at the Border did that, which I assume should be updated on the SAVE data base. I went to the SSA office on Dec 23 and my name was still the old.

FYI - They messed up my name on the VISA - They gave me a CR1 Visa with First Name - FNU and Last Name - <My complete name>

ANy inputs how long to wait for ELIS case to update or recieve Green Card.

you should check in with CBP office, in person, and ask a shift supervisor across the desk to fix your name in the SAVE database system.

If SAVE is messed up, your SSN application will die a horrible death.
