Also, still no SSN. We checked the box on the application AND applied at our local SS office 2 weeks after POE. We are pissed off that this is taking so long.

Nobody will hire him even though he CAN legally work. sad.png

go back to that SSA office, get a supervisor.

Then ask if the SAVE DB lookup was confirmed, or if the clerk that handled the intake decided to put out for DHS verification. Then ask for another SAVE DB lookup and IF HE IS FOUND on the visa name or A#, hand over another SS-5 and ask the supervisor to accept the application, claiming (you) the clerk did it wrong the first visit.

That's it, that's all. Must to go in person, using a telephone is useless.

No, his ELIS status just says Accepted. I did call again yesterday after work when I got home, but they were not helpful. Turns out all the Immigration Officers to home at 5pm even though they are open for phone calls until 6pm. I will call today and ask for an immigration officer. Basically they couldn't tell me anything because we did DCF and, therefore, never had an official NOA1 from USCIS in the USA, which has a receipt number on it. DCF gave us a number specifically for use at the consulate in Germany.

And I told my husband to go to the SS office again today, but I work so I cannot go with him. He has to take my mother to the hospital (for unusual pain she is in) so I don't think he is going to make it there today, either.

So I called again and was told I would have a 79 minute wait. I put my name and number in the automated system and it called me back. We managed to get a conference call with my husband on the phone.

However the immigration officer still said that he will put and "inquiry into the system" and we will hear from them within 15 days. Ugh.

The only good news I see from this is that everyone else in this forum who posts something similar to this usually gets their green card within 1-2 weeks of speaking with somebody. I really really hope that is the case.

Okay, my husbands POE was 10/05 in Newark, NJ. ELIS fee paid two days before. Still NO green card over here.

Your husband's green card should be just around the corner. My POE was on 21 September (Boston, MA), and the green card arrived this Monday. With any luck, he should start seeing changes in ELIS in a week or two.

My F2A/IR-1 journey:

USCIS:
4 August 2011: I-130 sent (while husband permanent resident)
8 August 2011: Priority date
16 April 2013: NOA2

NVC:

7 May 2013: Case number received, DS-3032 sent

15 May 2013: AOS bill received and paid

16 May 2013: AOS package sent

17 May 2013: DS-3032 accepted

20 May 2013: IV bill received and paid

21 May 2013: IV package sent

11 June 2013: response to IV checklist sent

13 June 2013: Case upgraded to CR1

2 July 2013: Case completed

28 August 2013: Interview - approved!

21 September 2013: POE

18 November 2013: Green card received

My husband's citizenship journey:

8 February 2013: N-400 sent
4 March 2013: Biometrics
24 April 2013: Interview
12 June 2013: Oath ceremony

if you want to track it try the receipt number spot on the USCIS website vs the ELIS section.

This is where we have problems. We did DCF in Germany and the ELIS system was only used for the $165 USCIS Fee that had to be paid after the interview, and before his POE. We paid that with no problems and he came here.

The problem was when we contacted ELIS via phone and they will only give case status updated with the receipt number that is given to people who filed in the USA. The receipt number they are talking about the is receipt number that is listed on the NOA1. And there is NO official NOA1 when doing a DCF. They repeatedly asked for the number which we referred to for the entire case information, to which I replied with my case number, but our case number was a Frankfurt, Germany case number which has no significance whatsoever. It was really frustrating and it required me to call ELIS multiple times.

My suggestion to anyone in the same situation: Call ELIS BEFORE noon, as noon is busier than other hours (though I did have an hour "hold time"). Make sure if you (petitioner/beneficiary) are not together, that you call them via a conference call (they let us do this). Have your A# ready and everything else that might hold significance. And here's the most important piece: Ask to speak with an IMMIGRATION OFFICER. The normal agents cannot help in this situation!

No i'm not talking about your receipt number from your petition. I'm talking about the receipt number that is on the ELIS site. Should start with IOE or something like that... It's right there on the ELIS site and you can use it on the https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard/CaseStatus.do case checker.

This number will also be on your green card so I do not suggest anyone posts it on the forum.

Our IOE number does not work in that CaseStatus checker. It never has.

I’m curious as well being that I’ll POE in a week and a bit!

Anyone still here that has already POE’d and paid with ELIS?

I paid the green card fee on August 5 through the ELIS site and I POE'ed on August 6. I got my green card in the mail on September 4.
