Hi,

I have few questions :

First some details:---

Entered US in Dec second week

1. From ELIS:

Case Status is Optimized.

Case Details: In Progress

Status Date: Feb, 26, 2015

2. USCIS status FOr IOEXXXX number says:

My Card is being produced

On February 23, 2015, we began producing your new card for your Form OS155A, Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration, Receipt Number IOEXXXX. We will mail your card to the address you gave us. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.
Questions:
1. Why they take so much time to send card? Is it normal?
2. As they are saying card is being produced means Every thing cleared????
3. I called them once they did not say anything new apart from what I see on USCIS website. They also said they will pass message to concerned department.
Is there anyone else with same conditions? Is this normal?

When you call, you need to ask to speak to a Tier 2 agent, because the people who answer the phones literally just read off the website for you and that is it. Tier 2 are immigration officers who can look some more into your case.

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

 

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

 

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

Hi everyone,

I saw that in the first pages of this post (from a while ago), people were advising others to go and manually apply for SSN after POE, even though they checked the box for applying for SSN with the green card. Is this still the case?

We arrived in the states last week, and my wife is searching for a job (will probably need the SSN after the job interviews), would you advise to wait, or go anyway and apply for the SSN?

I think it was tier 2 officer only because when I talked to first officer he gave me website information and when I asked him more questions then at that time he forwarded me to office ... which took approx 6 hours to get a call back from office.

So basic question is:

--Does a case remain at the card production stage approx 2 months?

Is this normal now a days?

If the SSN does not come within the first 2 weeks the chances of it doing so on it's own is VERY slim, so it's suggested to get the SSN on your own at that point. The SSA office can see if an SSN has already been sent to you or not.

It can remain there for 3weeks to a year. Normal processing is 1-3 months. Some people have issues and it goes up to 6 months. Normally at that point in time I suggest getting a representative involved and ombudsman.

Sooooo....I tried paying the immigrant visa fee. I am pretty sure I paid but then I tried to navigate back to my account. I logged out then tried logging back in...then I was locked out!

I will try calling the USCIS for help to unlock

Don't bother. Contact the ELIS helpline.

Mine locked I dunno how many times and if I waited a little while, invariably I could log back in.

Yesterday got a text msg with a tracking number. Card expected to deliver 4/16/15.

2nd Green card just got msg that they mail today. Hopefully tomorrow will get a tracking number.

Bah. Lazy mofos.

It was super easy to fix the SAVE thru the DMV, at least here.

I went to the DMV (BMV in OH!) this morning and have a shiny new permit :D

All I needed was my Green Card and my SSN card.

I managed to get 8 questions wrong out of 40, but thankfully still passed. No issues at all with the middle name, so I guess the BMV's computers are more compatible with SAVE.

I also made sure I wasn't registered to vote. The woman behind the counter said that registering to vote had never come up on my application, so I assume it filters it out for Green Card holders. The first woman I saw in the licensing department seemed very knowledgeable about immigration documents which is helpful. One guy tried giving her a photocopy of an NOA1 extension letter and she was not impressed :P

Hey, thanks for all the updates! I seem to be pretty consistently one week behind your case (I did POE one week after) and so far everything you've mentioned has happened to me as well. Got another ELIS update yesterday - card being produced as of April 15. Hope they mail it out in a few days! :)

I was able to log back in....now it says optimized. Entry is in 2 weeks. Hopefully everything goes well

I'm not sure what the hell is wrong with their website, I've been locked out of my account for no reason like 3 or 4 times now. Never had to do anything about it though, it just starts working again when you try the next day or so (or from a different device). It's probably worth mentioning in the customer satisfaction survey they'll send you soon. Good luck!
