Green card production after ELIS

I immigrated about 2 months ago (2 months ago this coming weekend). I contacted USCIS because I've been in "optimized" for over a month on ELIS. They put me through to an immigration officer (tier 2) who was about to submit a service request to the service center. We were disconnected after he put me on hold.

I called back and USCIS again put me through to a tier 2 agent. They told me green cards are taking on average about 3 months right now and that I should just wait. I asked her if she was sure about this and asked if she realized that I'm not adjusting status or anything and that I entered on an immigrant visa. She said that everyone that I spoke with was wrong about submitting a service request and that I need to wait three months. Is anyone else experiencing the same type of delay after they've reached optimized? Or possibly I'm just being impatient to get everything finally over with when it comes to USCIS?

I think they might be having a delay due to the wrong cards being sent out to people. But I disagree that you may not need a service request.

Sorry, it takes time to do an audit back at ELIS, and IMO a code review of the 'bad code' that's tagging the cards for 10 year greenies. That contracting company that is pushing out the system for ELIS needs a spanking, IMO.

But - I think for them to just say 'taking 3 months now' is just another line o bullsh|t without real reasons or cause - just another SERCO contractor at the Tier 2 level, making sh|t up. I had my share of that, with Tier 2's on other stuff earlier in the year.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I POE’d on 19 Jul. My 2nd Green Card is on it’s way to me already. Got the first (incorrect) one in around a month. Waited to get notice to return it. Returned it after sitting on it a week or two and then sent it in. Checked the USCIS status on the dashboard thinking with the IOE# and got a tracking number for USPS.

3 months is another weird number just picked randomly out of a hat to get people to stop calling I think.

Ya, I called again today because I really thought something was wrong with my case. They essentially said what Darnell said. They were experiencing errors and it's taking longer to fix them. They submitted a service request for me today so that I can get an explanation of what is going on with my particular case, just in case, though. They said I'll receive a letter by October 4th.

I did paid the immigrant fee for me and my wife and we paid on the 1st of august and came to the US on the 27 of august but till now, we have not received any welcoming letter or the green card. we applied for the social security number and received it 5 business after.

the problem I have is, I have forgotten the password I used creating the ELIS account when paying the immigrant fee and I don't know how I can check the status. I tried calling USCIS but it was really difficult to get the right option that relates to my problem.

After I made the payment, this was the reply I gat.

Please somebody should tell me I paid to the right site and also direct me on how I can speak to any USCIS agent through phone.( i.e when I call, which number should I enter so that I can talk to any agent.)

Your payment has been submitted to Pay.gov and the details are below. If you have any questions or you wish to cancel this payment, please contact National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.

Application Name: Integrated Operating Environment
Pay.gov Tracking ID: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Agency Tracking ID: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Without being able to logon I'm not sure there is a way for you to check what is going on. Can you reset the password?

It takes at least a month from POE to get the green card. So don't expect it anytime before the 27th of Sept. It can 3 months or more. Your endorsed visa in your passport acts as a temporary green card for up to a year.

If you have your case ID number (should be in some of the info you got when you paid the IV fee) then you can take that and use it on the main USCIS.gov website - under track my case.

Now, the case ID i am referring to is generated after you paid your IV fee - not any other case ID you may have.

I certainly had luck with this on the USCIS website - started checking it about 3 weeks after POE and suddenly it popped up with info!

btw, we got my wifes green card after 1 month...

@bobbis i think you are out of luck then - i just checked the email we received after we paid the IV fee - and the case number is not in there.

The case ID is available in your ELIS account info though...

looks like you will need to either get access to the ELIS account and get the case id for the IV fee or contact the USCIS about your green card directly - you should give them your original case ID for your green card case.

Sorry...
