Congrats, Jughead and Calygirl75! That's great news!

Thanks!

I've learned through the postings that it is never clear cut with the USCIS updates.

For instance you never saw a tracking number, but just like Jughead - I logged in to the USCIS portal this morning and the message read: "The USPS reported that they picked up mail from USCIS containing your new card on January 3, 2014. The USPS tracking number assigned is xxxxxxxxxx. You can use this number at www.usps.com to view updates to the delivery status of your mail." (Priority Mail 2-Day)

So I'm posting it, if it helps others out there that haven't received their cards and are wondering about the ELIS site. Hope it helps.

Hi everyone! I've paid the fee after I came in the US, and now my status on Elis has been optimized for about 2 weeks. Do you know how long it takes to have the green card? Maybe it's being slower 'cause of the holidays?

- Civil wedding: September 10th, 2012

- I130 sent to the USCIS in Chicago on January 2013, while my husband was deployed

- Interview at the consulate in Naples, Italy in August 2013

Absolutely it is slower because of that.

I'm starting being really frustrated now, between the green card and the SSN everything is taking a longer time than it should...

Green card takes 1-3 months, but has been taking longer because they messed up and sent people the wrong cards and needed to correct them. Then the holidays came. You have up to a year from POE to use your temporary green card in your passport anyhow.

btw: timeline.gif thanks muchly!

I'd do that but I have no idea how 'cause it has been months ago, I don't remember the dates and I have no idea which center took care of it and other things I've already been asked for on this forum. Someone even suggested I had an expedite case even if we didn't ask for it 'cause my husband was in Afghanistan at the time... I applied in January 2013 and I had my interview and visa in August 2013, that's all I can say

Well if you can't remember you can't. No biggy. If someone who was looking through petitions saw you had a US Military husband it's possible they could have decided to work on your file and do a little auto expedite on their own. It's possible.

they are functionally the same thing.

If you study your VISA stamp, search for the sentence containing the word 'endorsement' then read that entire sentence.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Thank you! Do you have your IOE #? (You should be able to see it on ELIS). You can use that number on the case status tracker on uscis.gov. I felt that their updates were a little better than ELIS.
