Wait time after I-130 interview

In November of 2010, I married my sweetheart quickly, while he was in deportation proceedings. We were not aware/had been misinformed about the true status of his case. I filed the I-130 soon thereafter.

March or April of 2011, I was summoned for an interview and went. My husband could not attend. The interviewer asked various questions then began paging through the file 12 inches high. He mentioned he could not make a judgement now, he would have to address situation later and I left.

Now, 2 years later and two children later, I am still waiting. Is this a typical wait time or appropriate wait point in the process? Where is my application sitting and waiting for what?

Little confused...who is the petitioner and who is the beneficiary? Your post suggests you are the USC but if that is the case why would you go to an interview and your husband would not attend? That seems impossible. It also seems unlikely you did not receive anything in writing after your interview or subsequently.

Absent a bit more detail about your case I believe it's impossible to provide better advice.

This is for an I-130 interview which is at the petitioners local office.

This is not a visa interview in the beneficiary's country.

OP: I hope you have been in contact with USCIS constantly regarding your petition, otherwise, your petition very well could have been closed and filed away due to inactivity.

What info do you get when you call?

Have you tried to make an infopass appt to follow up?

That would be my best suggestion.

well, the casefile was at a local office, you attending an interview at a local office.

i suggest you set up an infopass appointment - see

http://infopass.uscis.gov

then ask the folk at the local office what's going on.
