Just wondering if my fiance informing uscis a change of his address will effect the processing time at all? We are currently waiting for a response after replying to a RFE.uscis has my fiance mums address right now as that's where he was staying once he left England.he's now at his new air force base in colarado and has a apartment so now has a home address.however someone told him if he changes his address it may delay things as they will do another background check on him because he's now at a different address and different state.is this true?? Does anyone have experience with this?

I do not think it will affect the processing time. However, he can go to post office and fill out the form to change address. Post office will forward his old mail address to his new address, hence he does not have to change the address in n USCIS. Just go post office.

My fiancee came to US on the 8th of March, 2014 under K-1 visa at Newark, NJ Airport for POE.

Applied Social Security Number on the 10 of March, 2014.

Married on the 13th of March, 2014.

Sent I-485, I-765, and I-131 on the 15th of March, 2014.

Received EAD on June 7, 2014.

Received Notice of Potential Interview Waiver on July 1, 2014 date 6/27

I-485 approved on 03/31/2015 ( we ordered your card).

Mail from USCIS cannot be forwarded to another address (it's marked "Return Service Requested", meaning that it can only be delivered to the address on the envelope and not forwarded anywhere else). If the addressee is not known at the address then (if whoever lives there now doesn't just toss it in the trash) it will be returned to USCIS, so this is very bad advice.

In general, you should ensure that USCIS always has the current address at which you are living on your applications. In saying that, if the old address is his parent's house then it probably isn't going to make much difference because they will obviously make sure that the mail goes to their son.

i kind of have this question also... i am the beneficiary, i've already sent packet 3 to the embassy but i've now moved (had to move into my parents guest room until i can leave). i know the people living at my old address and they've agreed to contact me with any mail, but is it worth the effort to change the address after i've sent all that paperwork?
