My wife & my son had her interview today.

CO just asked three question & asked for DNA of my child.

He gave my wife letter stating:

We have retained your passport to more quickly process your visa when the processing has been completed.

You may also check the status of your application at http://ceac.state.gov/ceac/

Please help me that what does this letter indicates?

My wife's & my sons passport were returned.

Brief interview

Interviewer CO was not rude not even helpful.

Co: when u got married?

Answered

Co: when was your son born?

Answered

CO: how come son born before marriage

Wife: when she started telling she was my girlfriend and CO stopped her and said that no that is not the story, I tell u what happened:

First I got married to my wife & then got married to us citizen to get citizenship & got married to u again.

Wife: no that's not true

Co: keep on insisting that accept what CO was saying

Wife : no that's not true, she tried to explain but CO didnot listen,

CO: if u don't accept it then we have to do DNA

& it is very costly. It will cost u approx 1000.

Wife: that's ok but what ever u said is not true.

Co: then I have to put u in AP and we will call u within 1 or 2 week. So u don't accept it.

Wife: no I don't accept it

CO: he handed white paper stating as follows;

We have retained your passport to more quickly process your visa when the processing has been completed.

My real story : she was my girlfriend & my baby was born & after that I got married .

We r just married just once ,she is just 24 right now& I am 27 yrs old.

Everything CO said was wrong,

When I checked ceac website it says AP.

CO didnot see any evidence, marriage album, nothing.

My question is what should I do?

Wait for call from embassy.

Anyone had same situation please share ur experience.

May be they will ask for DNA, how long it will it take?

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. I am sure you will hear something from them with instructions on what to do next. As you said most likely a DNA test. Also if you have not done so. I think making a timeline of your relationship from the beginning to currently would be a good idea so they can get a better understanding of your relationship. Sorry I don't have any more information for you. Just those opinions. I am sure others can answer more specifically about receiving an AP.

This is the first time I am hearing that they did not let US Citizen petitioner in the Embassy (You are a US Citizen, right ????) You should have gone to a different line NOT in line with you wife/kid.

Means - they did not know you are in India..... and/or waiting outside Embassy?????

I don't know about DNA and it process.... Embassy should be telling you something....

Yes I agree with Chris and Trinh, make a timeline, but also get photographs of before the baby was born, and also phone records before the birth. Anything you can get, affidavits, whatever to prove you were together for a while before getting pregnant. I am very sorry for your experience. They seem heartless.

**** Three topics merged and a fourth without answers removed- please only post once on an issue and provide updates/ ask follow-on questions in the same thread so all the info stays together ****

Are you saying you had a girlfriend, had a baby with her, then broke up, married a US citizen, got citizenship yourself, then divorced and now back with the old girlfriend? If not, how did you get citizenship?

Usually with DNA tests you will be told to contact and pay a lab, they will send a test it to the embassy and you will get an appointment to get DNA taken, and the petitioner in the USA will do the same. Then the lab will analyse it, it can take several months.

Here is my story

I was married to us citizen & our marriage didnot go well.we got divorce & later after 5 yrs of permanent residence I got my citizenship.

I had girlfriend since 3 yrs from now In India.baby was born at that time & baby is now 2 yrs old. I decided to get married to my girlfriend last year & I got married to her last year. I petioned for my wife & my son after getting married.

Now CO want me to get DNA for me & my son.

I went to embassy on 3 July to inquire if they need anything from me & I found out that they emailed me on 24 June to have DNA,which I didnot recieved. So I asked tem to email me again.

I just wanted to know what r the procedure for DNA & how long does this process take.

What r the chances of visa after DNA?

The letter which I was at the embassy says as follows

This refers to your immigration visa application pending with this office. In order to process your case we need to confirm that a legally petitionable relationship exits between aaaaa, aaaa&aaaaa.

You may wish to have DNA test conducted in order to verify the claimed relationship.

So what should I do?

How much it will cost me?

How much time between your divorce and citizenship, divorce and getting married or divorce and having a baby?
