Now there it is again. Just heard this comparison to the O.J. Simpson trial again on CNN. Piers says "people are afraid of riots and all of this other stuff associated with the O.J Simpson trial".

Dammit people, the comparison in this trial if anything is to that of 4 cops who beat the Rodney King. The Rodney King verdict created riots because there was no conviction. There was never a chance of that with O.J.

And herein lies the reason for the trial...that and racism.

The fact is that even if GZ is found guilty it changes no laws. There is a person on trial here, not a law. This is not the Supreme Court, the judge has no authority to strike down the law. If GZ is guilty, concealed carry does not change, "stand your ground" does not change. It may set some sort of precendent which may or may not affect any future cases. SYG has been challenged before and sometimes it prevailed and sometimes not...but the law is unchanged.

"Gun nutters" will not riot. Gun nutters may chip in and pay for an appeal, but no riots.

GZ will be acquitted and I need only read these last few posts to know that even Patriot knows this.

Mora is exhibiting a degree of ignorance regarding firearms.

I must disagree counselor.

No GZ blood on hands, nails or shirt cuff on TM means no TM hands on mouth and nose.

Because up until now they have stated GZ was swallowing his own blood from his nose...BUT GZ's blood is on the shirt of TM and all over GZ's jacket.

Therefore i conclude GZ's mouth being covered by TM doesn't add up to the forensic evidence...ergo I would go so far to say that GZ's mouth was not being covered and he was not going to pass out before shooting TM. Therefore GZ lied about his threat of passing out or suffocating. Guilty based on the story not adding up.

Which they had already concluded before they declined to prosecute...and you had already concluded because "how could he scream?"

You have a situation of adreniline charged events in a very short time period and no two could probably accurately describe it twice. That is known and accepted. The minutia is not relevent but it is time consuming.

There needs to exist a reason for GZ to feel he was in danger of detah or serious injury at the hands of TM. There does not need to be any of GZs blood anywhere in particular. It is not necessary for TM to ever touch GZ to support deadly force.

But he did, and there are wounds. It would not be unreasonable to believe that GZ actually believed at that moment that GZ was going for his gun. There is struggling, hands going here and there, he knows he has a gun, "OMG he is going for my gun!" It is not a lie...but it may be inaccurate. He may actually HAVE been going for his gun and never got a hand on it. There are any number of descriptions, none of them "lies". It is not relevent. The prosecution knows this and has nothing else.

The guy also testified that environment conditions such as rain could have easily made no DNA available. so he put his hands over his mouth after he screamed and his head was titled back on the pavement . When shot he let go and grabbed his chest. seems plausible.

Again they act as if someone is surpised by this. All the forensic and DNA evidence was in, had been reviewed by the prosecutors at the time and was determined to NOT BE ENOUGH to get a conviction. It is enough for an indictment, to be sure, because the accused does not appear at the indictment. Imagine if we saw all this "evidence" with no cross examination. THAT is what they do at an indictment

After 2 months the state, with all this information in hand, declined to charge GZ with a crime. Because they knew they would lose.

The racists and Gunophobes demanded a trial and made it a racial issue. If I am the first to mention that today, then the rest of you have your heads buried up your @sses.

After firing the Police Chief and appointing a new prosecutor, GZ was charged....but none of the evidence changed (Except Jeantellosaurus and we know how that went)

It was never enough evidence and it still is not.

I have also done a lot of reading on "Touch DNA" It is a very iffy science. The first thing is that just because you touch something does not mean you leave evidence. under the best circumstances. I saw some experts discuss it last night. They said the chance of TM leaving touch DNA evidence on that gun if he touched it are slim and none. If he did, getting a good sample less than that. They thought the whole DNA stuff was speculative and the fact that the shirt was so full of bacteria and wet, should have gotten it all thrown out.

The think the defense will bring in a PHD level expert that will blow all that out of the water.

Who knows? might be a marked increase in whip sales, also.
