"So far, three former residents have testified for the prosecution that they saw someone who appeared to be Zimmerman on top during the incident, which took place by a walkway between units.

The prosecution highlighted the fact that none of them heard a crude death threat that Zimmerman says Martin made moments before he shot him, even though several were close enough to hear the struggle.

One neighbour who was watching TV with her husband at the time told the court on Thursday it sounded so close that she thought the fight might end up crashing into her back porch.

"They kept getting closer and closer," said Jenna Lauer, who muted her television when she heard the cries for help."

Combine that with the ME's testimony and GZ's lack of credibility, the defense is losing the self defense argument. I predict that the jury will only deliberate for a short time before reaching a guilty verdict.

You need to separate what is known with reasonably certainty (the two were in a scuffle/fight) and what is speculation (you believing verbatim, GZ's version of what happened that night). I stand by what I posted above - the defense is losing the self-defense argument from credible testimony and GZ's lack of credibility.

The very fact that LIB (that's short for LostInBlue) is hanging his head on someone that perished from what at first appeared to be mild head trauma during a ski accident shows you just how desperate the defense is getting. Grasping for anything that even remotely looks like a straw. Quite funny. If there was any point to that line of argument and if Zimmermann would indeed have acted out of that fear, I'd say he would have left the scene in the back of the ambulance. Rather, he declined to be taken to the hospital for a thorough check-out and decided to catch a ride with the police instead.

The purpose of deadly force is to PREVENT severe injuries which a reasonable person could expect from an attacker. There is no requirement in the law for there to be ANY actual injury on the victim. GZ killed TM before TM could inflict severe injury to him. That is a good thing.

I am a bit surpised that LiB even participates in such nonsense discussions, he knows the law.

The question the jury has to answer is "Would it be reasonable for GZ to believe he COULD sustain severe injury from this attack?" They will be instructed as to the law by the judge, not by Steven.

Another witness saw TM on top. Different people saw different things in the dark on a rainy night with just a few seconds glimpse. That is called "reasonable doubt." Everything else is "coulda, shoulda, woulda" and was known when they initially declined to prosecute.

I would like to compliment GZ on his choice of ammunition. The bullet lodged in the heart which means it performed perfectly for its purpose. A bullet that passes through wastes energy that could be used to stop the attack. Tht's good stuff because at that range a TnT (through and through) wound would be expected. Especially for a skinny 9mm bullet. I would like to know the particular ammo he used because maybe I can get it for my .45 Bullets that pass through also leave evidence of their path and what angle they were fired from. Thats not good when you only want one person to testify. Plus it is resonsible and safe for the bullet to stop in the attacker and not pass through to possibly hurt someone else. For example if the bullet passed through and was found buried in the dirt, then it would be obvious GZ was on top when he fired. Oops, didn't happen, so all we have is conflicting stories from people who never saw who started it. Dammit.

GZ will walk.
