Receiving visa in Mumbai

Hey everyone, does anyone know if you are able to pickup your visa after the interview or atleast on the same day as the interview at Mumbai VFS?

I know when my sister-in-law was interviewed in June, she picked up her passport with visa the same day.

but I would still wait for someone who recently went thru mumbai.

Good luck with the interview. Once the interview is complete and she is approved. She can ask the interviewing officer if her passport will be ready for pickup on the same day. The reason I say this is because it largely depends on their workload at the consulate on a week by week basis.

I've known people who were able to pick up their passport on the same day at VFS (in the last few weeks) and my wife had her interview 2 weeks ago. She was told that the passport will not be ready and "we will courier it to you." She kept calling the embassy every day and day 6 after the interview, her passport was at VFS.....she went over to pick it up.

Given that your interview is Dec 28th, right between christmas and New year....my guess would be that you'll have to wait a few days before getting your passport back but you have my best wishes that you can start the New year together. Feel free to ask any more questions about Mumbai....

Hi Mallett_sj,

I cant tell you for sure as this thing depends a lot on how busy the consulates are.

But 90 out of 100 times you get it the same day from 5 to 6 PM at VFS office, Mumbai.

You will have to go there a little early and be the first in line to collect visa.
