No, I assume nothing at all. I know that sellers are not necessarily required to ascertain the eligibility of a potential buyer. It's obviously stupid to place the onus on the felon or the mentally incapacitated. It would make more sense to put the burden on the law abiding seller, don't you think. The felon has demonstrated not to obey the law so why would anyone in their right mind rely on the felon to obey the law in not acquiring a firearm? We should be able to trust that the seller, unless a felon himself, would want to obey the law.

Have you heard of the cases where gun smiths and gun sellers have lost their lic, for misplacing gun parts or selling to someone who they should not have sold to. I am sure wherever you get your info from does not tell you that.

So felons are not going to abide by law anyways, lets create some new laws for law abiding citizens... your logic is awesome.

Okay, you need to try and follow a simple train of thought. Then we can have a discussion. The only way to restrict access to firearms for felons and otherwise ineligible persons is by mandating that firearms are not sold to that population. In order to make that work, every buyer must pass a background check regardless of the venue of the purchase. It makes no sense to require licensed dealers to run a background check and allow private sellers to sell to anyone they want no questions asked. It's like requiring regular retailers to check ID when selling tobacco or alcohol but allowing private sales of tobacco and alcohol without any requirement to validate that the buyer is legally eligible to purchase these items. No sane person would advocate that.

It does not make you look smart when you forget wht link u post and asking other person to follow train of thought.

I gave you example that ppl lose lic coz they failed to complete background check.... which means background check does happen, more than 500k applicant were rejected...which means background check works.

Yep interesting you are ok for someone to be Id to purchase alcohol and tobacco and you think it is good and works but you are not ok for person to be Id to vote.

B. it was not on MSNBC, Al-Jazerra, Salon,CNN or other left wing approved sources so it is obvious right wing biased hate,no matter how many facts they quote

Sir, please remove CNN...you stated they were accurate?

That statement is not saying CNN is not accurate. Merely saying they are part of the very few news sources liberals will accept. They do have a liberal lean but they usually don't just make stuff up like MSNBC
