Yeah I think it's a bit strange that they ask for the beneficiary's bank statements. But people who went through the process at the Auckland embassy have confirmed that information in packet 3 asks for bank statements. Not entirely sure how that adds to the decision-making process. Although, since they might take my assets into account, and that his income will meet the requirements, we figured we'll try to not initially include a joint sponsor but will have one in line as suggested by Jay-Kay. Thanks to everyone for all your helpsmile.png

Just goes to show once again how each of the consulates have different procedures and require different things. Good luck to you!

You are welcome and I appreciate your comment smile.png You can just have the co-sponsor's I-134 and supporting documents with you. Present your I-134 and supporting documentation only at first. It might be accepted without the need for the co-sponsor. Or, just present all of it together and be covered for sure up front. For AOS, I believe you will be perfectly fine on your own without the need to ask anyone for help.

As others already sated, a complete copy of a tax return with all forms, schedules, W-2s and or 1099s work in place of the transcript.

Okay, hopefully this is my last really dumb question about this. My co-sponsor sent me copies of his tax returns for 2010, 2011, and 2012 along with all schedules and forms. All the pages have a watermark on them that says "COPY ONLY DO NOT FILE " And the copies of the W-2s have some marks on them from the accountant who prepared the taxes, but everything is perfectly legible. Also, since they are copies, they are not signed by him. They are signed by the tax preparer, who wrote in the signature line for my co-sponsor "for information only." Do you think this is still sufficient? mellow.png

Yes this will work. smile.png

Thank you!! :) You are super awesome! I often come across your comments and advice on the forum as well and I appreciate your straight-forward and helpful answers. I know it probably gets old answering repetitive questions like this all the time from posters who are freaking out over little things, but it really does put my mind more at ease and makes me feel more confident. star_smile.gif

You're very welcome. Helping out members like yourself is what makes it worthwhile. :) Along the way I often learn something new. I sometimes have trouble the K1 visa route because it was not our chosen route but I hope that I can be just as helpful here as in my own "niche" eventually. :) I hope your interview goes splendidly. It sounds like you're one of the people who really want to make sure they get it right the first time, which makes it that more enjoyable to help. :)
