CSC currently working on applications with NOA of Jan. 16th '13

Just got off the phone with tier 1 customer service on the national customer service line - My NOA was Feb. 1, and its currently July 2, just 1 day past the 5 month processing estimate. I called to inquire regarding what the delay was and the CSR typed something on the computer (i think) and said that CSC is still working on Applications from Jan. 16th. But I see a bunch of ppl with Feb/March NOA1's being approved on Igor's timeline list.

I asked the csr if that means I am about 2 weeks worth of applications ahead of me from getting my NOA2, and he kind of mumbled like sort-of.

Okay just got off with TIER 2 Immigration Officer - she confirmed that CSC is still officially on Jan. 16th applications.

Still foolishly holding out hope that this is just the "official word" to make people be a bit more patient. There's been lots of March approvals already, so I'll hold onto that hope until the end of August (I'm an April filer).

Same here!! There have been a few April approvals already as well, but I'm sometimes hesitant that they were mistakenly updated or some crazy thing. Still keeping my fingers crossed that there's a good chance I'm coming up next, though. Even if I would feel slightly guilty for getting approved before January filers. Anyways, hang in there everyone! We can do it!

[february 2010] - we had been emailing back and forth.

[march 2012] - met in Chicago and began our relationship.

[may 2012] - he came back to MN to visit me.

[august 2012] - i moved to the UK for one year of school.

[september 2012] - traveled to FR to meet his family.

[march 2013] - flew home to MN to visit family. he proposed!

and so began our visa journey!!

[03-25-2013] - filed our I-129F.

[04-16-2013] - NOA1

[07-26-2013] - NOA2

[08-03-2013] - NVC received

[08-09-2013] - NVC left

[08-13-2013] - Consulate received

[09-13-2013] - Packet 3 received

[09-13-2013] - Packet 3 sent

[??-??-????] - Packet 4 received

tier 2 is an immigration officer.. tier 1 is an idiot

I am not an attorney nor do I make any claims to be one .. I have been reading threads in vj for well over a year now .. most of my comments come from reading other's experiences coupled with my own

I started with a 129 and then changed to a 130 after I found out my marriage was legal ... go figure

To be fair they read from cards about topics asked upon and would safely say to call one of them an idiot for doing what they are told to do is a bit unfair.

However you are correct in that the next level should be requested as you should get a more accurate reply!

Ha ha ha ha.... Perfect definition!!

i would have to agree with you on that stevie b. the only problem is, they wont transfer my fiance to tier 2. They'd just say they'd have an immig officer call him back but no callback ever gets thru to him. When he called them back, they just said wait a couple more days on it as they say its 3-5 days before the IO calls him back. I told my fiance they are just taking him for a spin.

I just feel so frustrated about all this. It's been 11 months and about 2 weeks now....yes, two more weeks and we would hit the one year mark of waiting for our noa2.

Now this is something i cant see an explanation for. They are obviously out of the goaled processing time and yet they still spin us around and dilly dally like nothing is the matter.

what is your take on this? they are probably doing the recent filers so the average proc time would add up to 5 months?

i am kinda torn between agreeing with you and stevie b. i know to be fair, they are just doing their job. But then again, if they see that the person on the other line has valid issues/concerns (i.e. their case was filed july 26, 2012 and the current processing time is at 5 months and obviously, this makes them WAAAAYYY outside the usual proc time), they should make it a point to put them thru someone who could help them or at least give the latest/more accurate info about their case (like a tier 2 or immig officer).

I'm a former k1 visa holder who filed 2 years ago. On 2011 (when I filed) things were faster usually within 4 month most of the people I knew already had their noa2 in my case was 3 month. 2 years ago somebody started a topic asking why some people are approved faster than other regardless the filling time. One of the vj who commented, was a former uscis worker and told us several reasons why this might happens: even though the agent works with the packages according with the arrival, if somebody has a RFE, the worker put aside this package a keep working with others, workers are humans and humans have differents paces, some workers process packages faster than others. The other main thing is that, this worker has to make a background check of the petitioner and the beneficiary. Some people are easier to check up some are not that easier, mostly if somebody has criminal records or some kind of immigration issue. Basically is nothing personal is just a mix of the working pace of the people who has your package and how easy or difficult is checking the backgrounds. He also remarked how important is to respond ASAP to any RFE and fill out properly all the documentation

I took a closer look at Igor's List, and I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but there were a TON of January filers getting their approvals recently; however, every single January NOA1 recently approved had an RFE, and all the March NOA1s didn't. Maybe that explains why they're saying they're working on January but we're seeing March people approved?

if you use the callback feature after you are transferred to an IO, then they will call you back when your turn comes up.. if you leave your number with the person answering the phone, it will take days
