Hi,

I'd really appreciate some advice here. My i-485 was recieved on March 20th and I was assured that processing time was 90 days. My husband and I are moving from Chicago to San Francisco next week. I was expecting to have had my interview and eveything done by this point but when I got my notice for interview the date way July 30th in Chicago. We will be in San Francisco from July 7th.

I tried calling a few weeks ago to reschedule my interview location. My request clearly got confused as I recieved a letter saying that I had raised concerns about the processing time of my application and that they had sent the interview notice and just to follow the instructions on the notice.

I have just called again and when I asked to change the interview location I was told to follow the instructions on the interview notice. On my notice it states to call the service centre, which is exactally what I did! When I explained this to the guy he said I would need to talk to a supervior. I am now in a queue!

Does anyone have any experience of relocating an interview? The guy on the phone didn't seem to think it was a valid reason to not attend. We can't afford the vaction time and flight cost to fly back to Chicago for the interview.

Any advice would be greatly appeciated.

Thanks in advance!

Whoever "assured" you that the time was 90 days was wrong. When you move, you will file a change of address with USCIS, and then they will cancel your interview and reschedule at your new location.

AOS for my husband
