Even tho i'm a bit sceptical... The rep at NVC said our case should be complete this week.

Im wondering tho, what exactly are they doing at this point? After the DS-230 and checklist is received by the NVC, that is.

Are we simply waiting for a number at this point?

There is no visa number involved CR-1 and IR-1 visas are unlimited visa types, no waiting for a number to come up.

They could be waiting for the next batch of shipments to the consulates, and embassies. They tend to send them out once a week.

Your profile is lacking details as to which country the beneficiary, visa type, service center ect...
