Hi, has anyone here tried to bring chihuahuas from Philippines to America? I have five chihuahuas back in Philippines and one of them just got stolen. I really want to bring them here but I don't know exactly how. Does anyone know any accredited veterinarians that can issue health certificate, vaccination card, rabies vaccine and swine worm vaccine? Also is there a way to have the dog be put on the plane without needing us to come too? ... we would appreciate all of the information and help...i left my dog in philippines one of them got stolen ,,and it breaks us , so were now thinking of bringing them here one by one ...any help

I can't help you with the vet issue in the Phillipines as I'm not from there. Though I do know that the most important vaccine for the US is rabies. It was what we were taught to ask for while I was working for KLM and we had dogs on board an aircraft as pets in cabin all the time.

Also you don't have to travel with your dogs, you can speak to any airline that has flights out of Manila that connect to US for example, Cathey Pacific, to ship the dogs as cargo. You might have to deal with quarantines if any, though the airline's cargo department will fill you in on all that, including what documentation is required for the transportation. After that, someone just needs to drop them off at the airline's cargo department and someone to pick them up after custom clearance in the US.

Besides the rabies vaccine at least a month before the trip, your dog will also need inspection for screwworm less than 5 days before enters the USA. Wish I could help on the vet, but I don't know of any there.

My wife wants us to bring our dog to the Philippines. But its a short muzzle breed which the airlines won't accept any longer. I'm not sure what we'll do if she's still with us when that time comes. She'd be pretty old by then.

These are the two USA government sites giving the regulations. It can be any licensed full time vet who certifies the dog is free from screwworm, plus the certificate of rabies vaccination. Anything beyond that is something the airline might require.
