About time they caught up. As I said, this morning they were still reporting "6 dead."

So they back-dated the stories including the links?

I'm just saying what was up on several mainstream news websites this morning, within 1 hour before I made my post today. I knew it was wrong, because the death toll was already reported to be higher than 6 yesterday evening (in our time.)

wow. heard some analysis from bbc radio overnight.

Mr. Moursi (sp?) really mucked up..

Yeah... he won the election against the army's candidate....

Right. That's when the CNN and CBS stories went up.

If I would've known that you think I'm such a liar, I would've taken a screen shot.

Can you give a link to whatever article you're referring to ?

The Foreign Assistance Act requires the US government to suspend foreign aid "to the government of any country whose duly elected head of government is deposed by military coup or decree."

I'm not thinking that you're a liar. I just pointed out that major news outlets have reported the ~30 deaths and ~1,000 wounded since yesterday evening. I'm not sure where you looked but Reuters, CNN, NBC, CBS all had the numbers in that vicinity. Generally speaking, US media coverage of non US events is not great. I would agree with that. I usually refer to my German news sources for international news.

That is correct. What are the odds of that happening, though? Slim to none I think...

I'm glad they finally started reporting it. This was all going down by 1-1:30pm yesterday central time - while every single mainstream US news outlet was glued to the Zimmerman trial. I think I saw a brief crawl mentioning it on CNN around 4 - but they were still busy airing Zimmerman press conferences. I watched the story all night - believe me, I was comparing the coverage from different sources.

Part of the problem is that weekend staff at a lot of news agencies here in the US is very limited - and that may well be why some websites were still carrying old news this morning. (By the way, this is why the US government will often release controversial or unfavorable reports on Friday afternoon or evening - they know it will have 2 and a half days to die down before Monday.)

Nope - this was on BBC radio, circa 4 AM CST . An analysis of what's what, what's transpired.

This is why the US government isn't referring to it as a coup. At least not yet...

The Egyptian army wants their money - the $1.5 billion from the US. That money is dependent on (some would go ahead and call it a bribe to perpetuate) Egypt's peace treaty with Israel.

Watch for the newly "elected" president of Egypt - one of the first things out of his mouth (definitely won't be "her" mouth) will be how Egypt is going to diligently uphold all its foreign treaties - and never mind if the other party is upholding their end of the agreement.

Nope - this was on BBC radio, circa 4 AM CST . An analysis of what's what, what's transpired.

It's hard to comment on your comment without any specifics... so we'll move on.
