hmmmm.... we received our NOA2 on Sept. 10th and no case # from NVC. 44 days now.

I'm seeing that people after us are getting their case #. Should I be doing anything else besides calling NVC?

We have the same NOA2 date - have you called a USCIS Tier 2 officer to confirm it was sent out, and when? At least that way you'd know for sure whether it was sent or not - might take about 5-8 days from the date it was sent out for NVC to generate a case number.

I have not called USCIS. Do I call and ask to be put to tier 2 and then ask them if it was sent out? What is the # to USCIS?

Yep, sometimes the tier 1 agent who answers the phone might be unwilling to transfer you, but you can tell them that it's been past 30 days since your I-797 notice date and you insist on would really appreciate being transferred to a tier 2 rep. :P Here's the number: 1-800-375-5283 good luck!

Yes. I called DoS after seeing the status update in CEAC; I was told that our packet3 had been sent out on 24-Oct-2013 & it would take 5 business days to reach us bla bla.. thou we are going to just mail our packet3 & just wanted to know if it is logged in their system by the embassy.

Everyone here, have a great weekend

is it okay that we both don't have an A number??

Let me see if I'm understanding you correctly, are you referring to the Alien Registration Number? If so, then yes, having one is ok as only the beneficiary will be issued one, not the US Citizen ;-)

Awaiting Oath Ceremony for Citizenship! Last step!

Just curious on what everyone does as to planning a wedding? We have 90 days to get married, but its very hard to plan a wedding when you don't know exactly when you will be moving! What did everyone else do? :) thanx

We have not made specific plans yet, but likely it will be a small civil service, followed by private dinner party and very small number of people, immediate family, I guess. During the next summer we will travel to Brazil to have a big celebration with my huge family ;)
