NOA2 a week ago, sent to NVC today. TSC is moving fast.

How were u able to find out that the case was sent to NVC? I'm thru CSC and ours was approved two weeks ago now but still no word on where the case is. Ugh!! I called DOS & NVC today and both advised no case # yet & couldn't tell me anything about if my case was even there. Craziness! ;-)

Awaiting Oath Ceremony for Citizenship! Last step!

Once we get case # from NVC, how do you check the status in CEAC website.. say if it is in Transit or reached embassy etc.,

I mean do we choose nonimmigrant Visa (for K-1), consulate name (for us it is Canada, Montreal) and the case #? in the CEAC website?

anybody going thru Montreal, Canada Guide me? how did your case number look like; is it something like MTL 2013 XXX XXX?

If I understand correctly, Montreal do not send packet 3 instead just a letter with chklist.. so I dont think we need to wait for packet3 but send all forms whatever required to get packet 4. Then go for medicals. is that right?

Sorry.. I am going crazy...Probably b'se it is a Friday! lol..

Choose immigrant visa. The page should then change so you only input your case number. That case number looks correct to me, but input it without the spaces on the CEAC website. A little pop-up box will appear telling you what's happening with your case :)

I can't tell you about the packet 3/4/medical as I'm at the UK embassy...have you had a look in your country's forum?

The final update on the USCIS website will say:

Post Decision Activity

On September 25, 2013, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly.

If your case doesn't say this yet, CSC probably still has it.

Just so you don't drive yourself crazy....You will not receive a notification as rhirhi said. CSC filers have not been receiving updates when cases are shipped to the NVC. And the waiting time right now has been about 6 weeks to get a case number. There are threads in the forums specific to CSC to NVC delays. You can also pull the stats yourself in the Immigration Timelines tab. I hope for all of us it speeds up but the folks who received NOA2 in the week of 8/19-8/23 are who is getting receipt notices.

Ohh, last I read CSC was still sending notices, it was just taking ages to get the petitions sent out. I didn't realise things had changed, my bad :)

I'm in the same situation. Good thing is (in the UK at least, you'll have to check this for your country) you can schedule your own medical appointment so your timeline will work out whether or not you get the NOA2 early. I can't move til mid-July so I'm booking my medical end of Jan/start of Feb. I will also have to take a notarized letter from my fiancé (USC) to the interview stating his continued intent to marry me. That's it though smile.png

rhirhi,

doesn't the visa has to be issued within 4 months after NOA2?

Or did you aplly for an extension?

I plan to apply for an extension, just not sure what a good reason could be?

My current work to finish a project?

My kids that they should nearly finish the school year?

Cheers

Hi

As mentioned in my post, for the UK embassy you just need to bring a dated and notarised letter from the USC fiancé to the interview if you are outside the 4 month window. This needs to show their continued intent to marry you. You don't need to apply for an extension or anything. Not sure if it's different at other embassies though so it might be worth checking that out.

Oooo...I didn't realize that they were still doing this with the gov't shutdown. Y'all are giving me hope that the transfer to Paris will happen sooner than I initially expected.

I'm gonna wait till mid-October before I start calling NVC/DOS just to spare myself from getting crushed whenever they would say call again etc. Since Tichi&Rachel says they are processing late August approvals at the moment, then I'll just patiently wait for my turn. :P I'm just really relieved that they're still operating during the shutdown.

I called NVC today and received my case number! NOA2 was 09.26.13 from TCS and transferred to NVC on 9.27.13! The guy on the line said that the case was processed on Friday. I wasn't expecting it to be that fast! To everyone waiting, hang in there.

Just finished my medical and will come back tomorrow for the result...and I have checked our case via CEAC and said it is now READY FOR INTERVIEW...WOW!....thank God! I need to bring with me this notice to the SLEC tomorrow....:-) God bless me with good results for my medical...:-) and we have scheduled my interview on October 24, too...they allowed us to make the appointment via phone even if they dont have yet the hardcopy of our case yet...the lady at first didn't want to schedule us and so my fiance was just quiet listening to her on the other line while talking and explaining things but eventually (thanks to her), she said to my fiance that she will allow it but we should make sure to check first if they have our case before the interview or else we will have to reschedule it...but now since it says at the CEAC that it is READY...so it means that my interview date is final already! Thank GOD! :-)
