Seem like people who filed way after us are getting approved. What's going on TSC???

Does anyone have any insight into the reasons some cases sit unapproved while most of the others around them are processed?

Who else from July is still waiting on NOA2? I take my hat off to you, it can be incredibly exasperating!

I have a similar timeline to you guys - just a little after maybe and I just got my NOA2 on Tuesday Oct. 1st.

Things may also be a bit slower now that the government is still shutdown - since Tuesday.

I guess I would just be patient - it does seem to go out of order - I watched a few numbers before and after me for a while and it jumped around. The number before mine still hasnt gotten approved yet.

Although - when you do get approved, it seems to come when you least expect it and it is WELL worth the wait biggrin.png

I am happy to report though that I just got another notification that my application was sent off to NVC today!

We're now outside (at the bad end!) the range of VJ's estimated adjudication dates. 75 days since NOA1 and 73 days since our case was touched.

Who else from July is still waiting on NOA2? I take my hat off to you, it can be incredibly exasperating!

OMG GiuseppeG I was about to post the same thing.... Thought I was the only 1 that felt like this. Seem like people who filed way after us are getting approved. What's going on TSC??? Well guess I will just have to sit back and just keep being patient. Hope for more approvals soon!!!!

Thanks Janet&Adonis I sure hope that will work. I always thought you had to wait past your 5 months in order to email or inquire about your case? Guess it won't hurt to give it a try.

Hello everybody,

better late than never I join this post :-)

I intend to move to the US next summer with my two children (their dad already agreed on it).

We filed this July too.

I guess I'm one of the rare species who feel lucky NOT having received anything about NOA2 yet :-)

Our plan is, that I move to the man I love next June.

As I actually have 6 months after receiving the visa to enter the country, we thought we would be safe if we file early(so I have enough time to organize everything for me and my chilkdren after the visa got approved). The timelines in the first half of this year also taught me, that we have an expected waiting time for NOA2 of about 5-7 months.

As they're now speeding up the visa process, I'm a bit "scared" and feel lucky, that they haven't touched our petition yet :-)

On top of that, they made the valid timeframe for the medical tighter, which doesn't fit in my plans either:

"Medical Exam: As of October 1, 2013 medical examination results for immigrant visa (IV) applicants will be valid for a maximum of six months. Visas will be valid only until the expiration date of the medical examination results. Therefore, IV applicants should not schedule a medical examination until instructed to do so by the Immigrant Visa Unit in Frankfurt, the National Visa Center (NVC) or the Kentucky Consular Center (KCC). If the visa expires before you travel, you will need to obtain (and pay for) a new visa and medical exam."

I'm in the same situation. Good thing is (in the UK at least, you'll have to check this for your country) you can schedule your own medical appointment so your timeline will work out whether or not you get the NOA2 early. I can't move til mid-July so I'm booking my medical end of Jan/start of Feb. I will also have to take a notarized letter from my fiancé (USC) to the interview stating his continued intent to marry me. That's it though :)

Im just curious...was the medical exam valid for longer than six months prior to Oct 1st? Are there any situations where it might be valid for shorter, like, say, 3 months?

Flying to Seattle on 6 May 2014!

AFAIK the only situations are when there are concerns with TB or a HIV infection. Then you get 3 months. Depends on the country though. UK states 6 but could be shorter, the doctor will inform you of this on the day.

Once we get case # from NVC, how do you check the status in CEAC website.. say if it is in Transit or reached embassy etc.,

I mean do we choose nonimmigrant Visa (for K-1), consulate name (for us it is Canada, Montreal) and the case #? in the CEAC website?

anybody going thru Montreal, Canada Guide me? how did your case number look like; is it something like MTL 2013 XXX XXX?

If I understand correctly, Montreal do not send packet 3 instead just a letter with chklist.. so I dont think we need to wait for packet3 but send all forms whatever required to get packet 4. Then go for medicals. is that right?

Sorry.. I am going crazy...Probably b'se it is a Friday! lol..
