Aaaand, after getting depressed about the government shutdown and the prospect of waiting weeks for approval, we got a text last night at 11 saying that we were approved!

Hooray to all of the new approvals! We'll all be with our sweeties soon (hopefully)

Just checked the website, and APPROVED, that was after an RFE too!

Congrats and welcome to the NVC waiting game. :)

Currently the CSC to NVC process is a bit slow so don't get too frustrated. You're nearly there!

Please provide more info what was the RFE about? I just got mine on 09/28/13 , it has not arrived in the mail. Please provide your RFE time line so i may estimate how long it will take. From when you received it, date you sent it in and approval and any other updates.

We had forgot to tick a box, got the RFE, in the mail on the 4th September, wasn't able to send it back straight away (fiance was out of state when it arrived), but they received it on the 20th. Then got my approval yesterday!

Thanks 7 days is encouraging. I did not count the 20th because it was a Friday and its when they got it.

Umm 7?

4 - 20 is 16 days

20 - 2nd is 12 days

or are you only doing work days?

Yes just working. So 7 working 12 days all together is not too bad. I hate this RFE stuff. Keep us abreast of the situation at the NVC. From many posts it seems they are sent after 2 days of approval and received the next day. The processing seems to be 4-5 days. Keep us up to date.

We're now outside (at the bad end!) the range of VJ's estimated adjudication dates. 75 days since NOA1 and 73 days since our case was touched.

Does anyone have any insight into the reasons some cases sit unapproved while most of the others around them are processed?

Who else from July is still waiting on NOA2? I take my hat off to you, it can be incredibly exasperating!

It seems it just random can be a batch assigned to lazy officer it makes no sense since now 08/15/13 applications are being approved. Was yours transferred to Texas? Did u check online on uscis.gov the status. I recently saw an application go from RFE on 09/18/2013 to Initial processing due to a bad address . The mail was returned. https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard/CaseStatus.do . EAC1390587928.

OMG GiuseppeG I was about to post the same thing.... Thought I was the only 1 that felt like this. Seem like people who filed way after us are getting approved. What's going on TSC??? Well guess I will just have to sit back and just keep being patient. Hope for more approvals soon!!!!

Nope I'm at CSC, so going by dates should have been processed even sooner! Yep I check on USCIS every day. The cases 2 before mine got RFE in early Sept, and the one after mine got approved in late August. My last update was July 24 (alien number changed), which was 2 days after my NOA1.
