oops8rh.gif Don't know why I'm a day ahead. I only logged in to wish you good luck on your interview because I knew it was coming up and you were such a big support to all of us here. Sending best wishes on your interview tomorrow or in some parts of the USA it's now after midnight so it would be today. I'm sure you'll do great. :)luv.gif

Thank you Nightingale and OM and everyone else who had kind words for me. I passed the interview and will have the oath on January 3rd. kicking.gif

I left home early just in case there was any traffic and it's a good thing I did because there was an accident on the highway and two lanes were blocked. I got to USCIS Atlanta office at approximately 7:00am and I sat in the car and listened to the whole test CD and practice the questions. At 7:30am I went to the front door and went through security which took not time at all since only one person was in front of me. I then went to the check in counter where they checked my papers, gave me a number and told me to head to the third floor. Upstairs, I put my my interview letter in a tray and sat down until my number was called. A nice young lady took my fingerprints and picture and I went back to my seat.

I got called for the interview at approximately 8:30 and a nice Asian gentleman had me follow him to his office. He then told me to put down my belongings and raise my right hand and swear to tell the truth. He told me to put my passports, green card and drivers license in a little tray on his table, however he never looked at any of them. The interview began with him asking me questions about the kind of work I do (I'm self-employed) and he seemed very interested in That, so we chatted a bit about it and then he moved on to the form. He asked me several questions from the information on there like my SS#, phone number, address, how many times I was married, how many kids I have, etc etc. Then when he got to the end he asked me if I was willing to pledge to the flag and the US and take up arms if necessary. To all of these I said yes.

Next he moved on to the history questions. I got the first six correct.

1. What is freedom of religion?

2. What is the name of the ocean to the east of the US?

3. What age do you register for selective service? (He asked me if I registered. I laughed and said "No"...he smiled and said "Why?" And I said "Because I'm female"...he smiled and moved on)

4. When was the constitution written?

5. What was one of the factors that contributed to the civil war?

6. Name a state that borders Canada.

Then he asked me to read: Who is on the dollar bill? (and then he asked me if I knew the answer and I said "George Washington"

He then asked me to write: Washington is on dollar

Then he asked me to sit tight for about 5 minutes while he did some paper work. I sat and watched him staple, mark, stamp, flip, read, write and work my file over a few times before he whipped out a big stamp and placed "Approved" on my file. He then gave me a sheet of paper saying that I passed the history, reading and writing and he was recommending me for approval. The interview itself took about 15 minutes.

He then told me to gather my things but stay seated until he could confirm that I could collect my oath letter immediately. He sent an email off to someone, made a phone call and then told me to go downstairs to the second floor and wait to hear my name called. He shook my hand, wished me good luck and I went downstairs. I sat there playing with my phone for about 45 minutes before another gentleman called my name and handed me the oath letter. I was on my way home at approximately 9:30am.

It was a good experience and I can't wait to take the oath and become another proud USC. yes.gif
