Looks like when you call the USCIS, they are not consistent to what they tell you. I got a yellow notice a month ago saying it was a Pre-Interview Notice telling me that I need to bring all my passports (old and current) and my state ID. I know some applicants who are in the same boat as me got the same yelloy paper but do you guys heard from USCIS since? And by the way, I haven't receive any biometrics schedule. After my Notice of Receipt, the next notice I got from them was the yellow paper. I am thinking of abandoning my application since some applicants from Hawaii were already got their new citizenship and to think that they applied days (if not weeks) after I applied. i am still under the 5 months average time of their processing but I am getting frustrated.

If I were you I would not call again but rather schedule an infopass to go in to the local office to find out what the issue is. If you abandon your process at this point, all the time you've waited so far goes down the drain along with the money you paid.

Hang in there a bit longer and go to the office if it's not too much of a hassle and get direct answers from an actual IO. Based on the timelines you should have been done a long time ago. I'm sorry you are going through this.

Hi all. I finally got a biometrics appointmen ton Nov 15 after almost 4 months of filing n-400. Today i got a noticed that i am in line for interview. I hope this process is a bit faster.

Hopefully, by the end of this mont I will get something from them. This is so frustrating. And they don't even update the status on their website. I am tired of calling them. I did call them 5 times and I was also able to talk to three Tier 2 officer. The last one was the nicest and thats when I get the notice days after I talked to that officer.

I received this notice in the morning and around late afternoon i got another text/email regarding a status change. It seems that i am now scheduled for an interview. Now i just have to wait for the notice in the mail.

I received the yellow notice not too long after the Notice of Receipt. Then i didn't heard from them for about 3 months. After a month and a half i gave them a call and they told me to keep waiting. 3 months passed by and i called again and this time they send something to my processing center and i got a reply the next day that they are sending me an appointment for biometrics.

I don't know why it took more than 3 months for them to process everything just to send me my biometrics. it was really frustrating. I definitely say try the infopass.

Hi all, my wife is a Sep 2013 filer and is up for her interview on Dec 11, San Jose, CA office. She's a bit nervous so I need your help in simply telling me the sequence of how the interview went. I think it is something like this:

1. Introduction

2. Oath, i.e. Swear to tell the truth.

3. Officer looks at the documents, like the PR card and passport.

4. Officer goes through the N-400 and reconfirms the information.

5. The test, i.e. upto 10 questions from the 100 she prepared for, need to get 6 right.

6. Then the interviewee is asked to read a sentence.

7. Then the interviewee is asked to listen and then write a sentence.

8. If all has gone well, then she signs the forms

Does this sound about right? lot of you have finished the interview recently so it should be fresh in your minds.

Also pretty much we can expect exactly upto 10 of the 100 questions in the booklet (that they gave her during fingerprinting, yes?)

So proud now to be A CITIZEN OF UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! My Oath Ceremony was this morning and it was beautiful! VISAJOURNEY Thank you for all the guidance and tools and the money saving to do our process by ourselves! I am now ONE HAPPY AMERICAN/BOLIVIAN!!!

Completed oath ceremony this morning in Philadelphia. Lasted less than 2 hours including wait, registering to vote and photos. We then went to the passport agency and had our passport made...paying the extra fee for same day service. We just wanted to finish. Period. Fyi..they need travel plans documentation for same day passport.

Thanks man, hang in there, I found out there are oaths at philly 2 times a week and on each day, there are at least 3 different times. You'll get there, this is just a speed bump.
