Hi all!

Yes I am a citizen of the United States of America Yayyhhhhhhhhhu!!! Well,I had my oath yesterday in the federal court in 25th floor room 2525 . It' was so quick . They started checking in at 12:00 by taking our oath letters and green cards and they were done by 12:25. There were 90 applicants form 32 countries. The judge came in at 1:00 pm. He made us say the oath and the pledge. Than , he gave a quick speech about the diversity of American society. It took him less than 10 min to do all this . He was out by 1:10. After that they handed us the certificates and We left . Out side the court room were couple of ladies carrying the voting registration applications . After that I decide to go to the dmv to update my name on my DL . I walked there . It's only 3 blocks away from the federal building. I am so happy that finally I am done with immigration. The whole process took 3 months and 10 days.

Today I applied for my U.S passport at my local post offices. I hope I will be lucky like Jay2pony who received his passport in 8 days. I didn't want to pay the $60 extra. I think $110+ $25 processing fees and already to much lol:))

Hi all,

So I sent in my application in July and received confirmation on July 17th that they have received my application. I saw on the schedule in USCIS that it will take about a month to receive the Biometric Notification. In September, I gave them a call and asked why I have not received my Biometrics Notification. The lady said she is not sure but that my application is on scedule for processing time. 2 weeks ago (Oct 11) I received a letter from USCIS saying that this letter is not a Biometrics Notification but a letter to let me know that when I do receive the appointment that I need to bring my driver license with me.

I have yet to receive my appointment from them. Should i give them another call since 3 months has passed already and the only thing I got from them was that letter to tell me to bring my driver license when I go to the appointment.

Looking at other people's processing time, it didn't seem to take them so long to receive the notification.

help please?

Thank you! I did receive a yellow letter on Oct 2 and I am now waiting for my appointment. Maybe the shut down causing a delay?

Hi All,

I got my letter with my Oath Ceremony date 11/22/2013 at 9:30 am.

I was kinda concerned, I had my appointment in 9/10, but that day they did not take my fingerprints and picture, a couple days later got a letter to have them done on 09/23. Apparently they said that day the system was down and they couldn't do it.

Not sure why it took a while but finally my Ceremony has been scheduled.

I just hope to make it until that day, my DD is 01/01/2014, but not sure If I will make it that far. My tummy is huge and I started to have contractions, so we will see.

Anyway, congrats to the new US Citizens! What an adventure since we all started the journey a few years ago!

Still no oath ceremony.

We were told by the approving officer that she would try to schedule us for 10/24 ceremony in San Antonio, but we're still waiting on a letter. Online USCIS case status was updated on 10/16 saying....

"On October 16, 2013, we placed your application in the oath scheduling que. We will send a notice when the ceremony is scheduled."

Only thing I received is the confirmation letter that USCIS received my application. On October 10, they issued me a yellow pre-interview notice that says to bring driver license to my interview. I called USCIS last week to ask what would be my next step ? They answered that I have to wait another 3-5 weeks from the last notice( yellow letter) to receive anything, so it might be the bio-metrics notice or might be the interview letter. So, lets see whats happens next.

I am wondering why it is taking so long? Some other applicants who applied after me already received their passport . Lets hope for the best. Please let me know if you hear something from USCIS.

I just called them yesterday and they said that they will escalate a claim to my processing office. I agree with you, I read the July applications and a lot of people have already gotten their interviews and what not. on another thread, I read that if you have had your fingerprints done within the last 15 months, you might not receive a biometrics notice and skip directly to interview. I has my fingerprints done last september for a job so maybe they skipped it?

I am not sure why our applications are taking so long. I know I was out of the country 6 months and 5 days last year but I provided all my tax return copies to them. I was not working while I was gone so there are no pay stubs that i provided. I'm sure if they needed it, they would have contacted me by now to send additional info.

Lets hope we hear something soon because I do want to travel out of the country early next year.

Had interview today. In and out about 15 minutes. The verdict is APPROVED! The officer handed me the oath letter for 12/12.

Piece of advice, be prepared on documents to take in. If you filed for marriage base, take 3 years stuff. You don't know who is going to be your officer. I was way over prepared but in the end it's worth it today. I am glad it's over now for the interview, and now just wait on the oath date to come.

UPDATE: I called in on 10/28 to ask them why I have no received a Biometrics Appointment and it was escalated to my processing facility. I got an email from them on 10/29 saying that they have reschedule my FP/Biometrics appointment for 11/15.

Hey Hilda_be,

After getting Biormetrics notice appointment, have your status changed in the uscis.gov web-site from initial review to something else? I called in again and they said the service request that I made for bio-metrics on september,12, they responded back on october,25. But the system doesn't say exactly what was the actual response. So, they said to wait for another 30 days. Let's hope that bio-metrics notice on its way to my mail-box. Update me about your case status.

I went in this morning to check the status and it still says initial review. I will be sure when the notice comes in the mail. I hope you get yours soon. If they said they responded on the 25th then perhaps maybe you will be something this week? They gave me an exact date via email response. And it only took then a day to respond after I escalated it with USCIS whom turned over the escalation to my local service center.
