Was looking at timeline of my field office and found this site.

http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.eb1d4c2a3e5b9ac89243c6a7543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=050d6c94d87c6210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD&vgnextchannel=050d6c94d87c6210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD

If you are curious to see if your field office conducts same day oath ceremony or not, it says on there and how many times it does the ceremony per month, etc.

Cool! From following that link to the Portland Field Office I found out they do conduct same day oath ceremonies at the Portland Field Office. I know the Judicial Ceremonies are once a month for those who changed their name. LINK

Naturalization Ceremonies
The Portland Field Office conducts Judicial Ceremonies once per month and Administrative regularly. This office does conduct same-day naturalization ceremonies.

I've been quiet because until now I haven't receive anything from USCIS after that Notice of Receipt of my application sent on July 10. I kept on calling them and they are not consistent on what they are telling me.

First attempt to call after a month of no activity with my application (after 30 days of filing): Customer service told me to wait for another 15 days since he has a limited access to my account and he sent a request to the USCIS main office for me.

Second time around (after 15 days since my first call): They told me to wait for another 15 days and give them a call if I won't get anything from them.

Third time (after 15 days since my second call): I talke to a Tier 2 IO and the lady told me that Iam still okay since I am still under the 3 months period for them to send me the biometrics schedule.

Fourth time (today): I asked for a Tier 2 officer right away but the lady said there is no need for that because she can help me with my inquiry. She also said that the normal time processing for the USCIS is about 6 months and can take up to a year and should give them a call after October 6 if I get nothing again.

Right now, I am frustrated and I want to tell them they can have my application fee as long as they tell me what exactly is happening with my application. Is it so hard for them to tell me if they lost my application and I need to send a new one? Or maybe the one who has my papers is on vacation? I am thinking of asking help from an Action Line of a TV station that helps resolve issues.

Man it's quiet in here! I hope more inline statuses and interview letters start rolling in soon. Come on July filers! If I can't be happy for myself as yet at least let me be happy for you! smile.png

I am so sorry to hear that. Have you tried Infopass to local office just to see what they have to say too? Also I heard that you could contact senator in your area to find out what's going on too. This long wait for you to get a biometrics seem suspicious, or perhaps you don't need fingerprint? I am not really sure. ClockWatch2.gif

I would also do an infopass if I were in your shoes. Several people who sent their application never got anything in the mail after NOA and found out months later that they missed their biometrics. Either get the infopass or insist that you speak with a tier 2 person.

She passed the test yesterday, took her 15 minutes tops, exactly the 6 questions mentioned, piece of cake.

... marked correct and then asked me the same Adriana Watson's questions:

1) Name of the national anthem,

2) What's the rule of law,

3) What is the ocean to the west of the US,

4) How old do citizens have to be to vote,

5) What happened on 9/11 (I knew they were going to ask that since today is 9/9)

6) Why does the flag has 13 stripes

Exactly the same questions!

Of note, if you are driving to this office (http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=077f95fc30fc5310VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD&vgnextchannel=050d6c94d87c6210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD), parking is readily available a short walk away in the Metro parking facility (5 minutes walk tops), $4.95 for the full day, can't beat that deal. If you can, Metro is the best, again it is a short (less than 5-minute walk).

We never got a letter when we were put inline. We did get an email notification and our case was updated on the USCIS website shortly after we did our biometrics.

Something clearly isn't right with your N-400 application and the run around you're getting. One member going through Hawaii this month has already naturalized! I'd contact your State representative's immigration section for either your Congressman or your Senator. I'd also do an infopass appointment at your local office and speak directly face to face with someone. Calling and making inquiries isn't getting you anywhere obviously.

Thanks, but looks like she is going to have to wait a bit, I have read elsewhere that the Judicial oath ceremony (name change) here in Alexandria is in a 6-month backlog (REALLY?). 6-month backlog?

Oh no! Six months is so long to wait for an oath ceremony.
