Can anyone give me an idea when we should be expecting an interview letter? How long after getting in line do you get the letter for the interview? We will be going through the Dallas location.

Thanks

Mine was about a week after I recieved the email saying I was inline, but it was dated 2 days after the email date. I received the interview letter about 6 weeks before the actual interview (long wait compared to others). I went through Dallas and San Antonio

Come back and give regular updates on your progress please. Once you have your interview date and time in your hand you can breathe a sigh of relief for a while. Also, if possible and you don't end up having a same day oath, I'd politely ask the IO if they know when you would be scheduled for your oath and if you can get a copy of the letter after the interview. Explain the mail problems and wait for it if you must. If they don't know call every week after the interview and ask for Level 2 officer. They'll be able to tell you the time and date of the oath and you can go even if the letter hasn't arrived.

We went to the post office and inquired about the missing biometrics letter from immigration. We told them the situation and mentioned that someone said it might have gone to the dead letters office. They checked their system and said it didn't go to the dead letters office. Only mail with incomplete information goes there. They also told us the letter was never sent from immigration.

So immigration says they sent it and it wasn't returned to them and the post office says immigration never actually mailed the letter. Who's right is hard to say.

Dh is still making up his mind about calling immigration and inquiring about what we should do about the biometrics appointment because we've never gotten a letter for it. He thinks he can show up to his appointment with his NOA and the email from them about the reschedule. I told him he better call and make sure because he may not be able to get past security without the letter. Since we have a week before the appointment I think he can request they reissue the letter to us and it should get to us in time.

Om. I think you're right have him call and ask before he does anything. I'd hate for any assumptions to be made and you waste even more of your time. Have him call and confirm what his next move should be. Call today, don't wait any longer.

What a hassle today. We checked for the Portland Processing center number on the USCIS website and online. Turns out you can't call them. So we called the USCIS customer service center. Went through the 20 questions to verify information then explained our situation. The person put us on hold and came back to us and said that the information we're seeking is above their level so they're transferring us to a higher officer.

They transferred us and the waiting time was 120 minutes to speak to the officer. They had an option to leave your number and they could call you back at your number and you wouldn't lose your place on hold. That was my first time seeing that and we took that option. The officer called us back in an hour and a half and told us we'd need the letter and they would fax it to us. We don't have a fax number but said we would find someone that has one. They said to call the USCIS customer service number back when we have a fax number for them.

We called our apartment manager and left a message asking if we could give immigration their fax number for an important document we need for an appointment. Then we waited for the apartment manager to call back. She called back and said we could use her fax number.

Then we called the USCIS number back to give them the fax number they requested in order to fax us the biometrics appointment letter. After the 20 questions for verification of information and explaining the situation again the USCIS customer service representative said they had some idea what was going on but that the department we need was now closed and to please call back tomorrow morning as early as possible during business hours.

So...we're going to call back tomorrow as early as possible and go through everything again in order for the biometrics letter to be faxed to our apartment manager so we have it for the appointment next week.

Om,

I know this may not help you right now but it's better to invest in a copy/fax/scanner. If you have a home phone, you can still use it as fax number and all you need is to connect the phone line wire from the wall to the fax. All you is hang up the phone and if someone calls and you don't pick up, it will ring into your fax.

You may need to get one since you are not receiving your letters incase you don't get the interview and or oath letter.

Hello!

I was going through my app letter and it brings a "N-659, Naturalization Interview Document Check List" in that it says bring:

An Original IRS form 1722 listing tax information for the past three years, or copies of the income tax forms you filed for the past three years.

Can I just take the IRS transcripts I submitted when I applied with me to the interview?? It doesn't say anything about transcripts on this check list, would that be enough?

Just wondering....

OM...I hope by now you've gotten your biometrics letter in hand. Nimaan's suggestion isn't a bad idea, although it it goes through to your apartment manager you could ask them to use it again in the future.

Adriana....I get the impression that USCIS prefers transcripts over anything else so I think you're fine.

We called back this morning and asked for a level two officer right away. When we were transferred to him and explained the situation he said we don't need the biometrics letter in hand. That you just show up and they search their system for your name because they have a list of all the appointments at the facility for the day. We told him that wasn't what we were told yesterday. He said he was 100% sure of what he was telling us and not to worry about having the paper with us. I guess it does makes sense that they'd know who to expect for appointments that day and could verify by checking their system against the person's ID.

Om, that makes sense but the letter is stamped when you complete your biometrics and that's the only evidence you have of completing your biometrics. What if they say you never showed up, what proof will you have showing you did complete your bio? I would call again and request it to be faxed. It never hurts to have a hard copy.
