They did not get their green card.

They got their I-130 approved.

Note the use of "petition" all over it.

Media writes GREEN CARD all over it to make it look a lot cooler than it really is.

Look like this guy would have been adjusting status since he was a student in the US.

Now I really want to know if this guy has a green card or not.

I didn't expect such fast results but the two cases mentioned were already before immigration judges. Thanks for the link.
