ok so i just have a few quick questions. i tried every number on the internet but the call service for visa centers in japan are down.

so heres the story. everything has gone well up to the interview. where my fiance was told about the 134. i wasnt for sure if she needed it or not for the interview but yes she did and was told by the consulate after they get the 134 that she would get her visa. well it took me a week to get information from my bank and everything else i need as supporting evidence.

her interview was on the 17th she got everything from me on the 27th and the same day sent it to where she needed to. well tonight july 1st i got an email saying that my petition expired on the 24th of june. i had forgotten about it because everything was done expect that 134 thing.

so heres my question. do i need to file for an extension because it expired before before they got everything they needed? or am i safe because her interview date was before the expiration date?

you have to deal with the embassy directly

they are the only ones who can give you an extension

call or email them

i understand that they are the only ones who can give an extension. and theres 2 thing about that. one the phone lines to the visa services are down for who knows how long. and 2 the lady answering the phone at the embassy doesnt cant help me and she quick to to try to get off the phone. so she's no help and kinda pisses me off. and i've emailed who ive needed to but its a 1-2 day wait for a reply.

and all im trying to figure out is if i actually need an extension or not.

Your interview was before the petition expired, so you should not need an extension. Consulates tend to automatically extend the petition when needed. Wait and see what the email response is.
