Would you eat the worm?

How hungry would you need to be before you ate a worm? I pointed out a pear tree to my hubby and added that nobody sprays it, so we would need to look for worms. He said why bother, just eat the worm. I said EWWWWW!! He said they are little and are natural protein. At this point I wanted to cover my ears and say "la la la". So....how hungry would you need to be in order to eat a worm?

I've done this with apples in the past. As a kid I used to send many hours off in some former farmland that had been left to go back to nature. There were a number of old apple trees, and when I got hungry there's green apples most of the summer, and ripe in the fall. So I'd just grab a few and eat away. I did try to grab the least wormy of course, but if you eat without looking you didn't even notice them. So I guess yes I'd just eat the worm, unless I had a better option. As your husband noted, they're pretty small usually anyway.
