Unless they've changed things, yes, they can't see packages in the system until the review has begun, so it's a good indication that the review has begun. I'd suggest calling up again later tonight and asking again.

And yup, the review is typically just a few days.

Sweeet! Yup, I'll call back tonight!

Thanks, Saylin!

Did they say it had at least been received, or no?

I was told yesterday that they have changed things regarding packages starting this month. Now, they can see the package in the system a few days from when they receive it. Mine has been showing in their system since Monday, but it hasnt been reviewed yet.

Time to review posts 1 and 2 and read everything. All your questions can be answered by reading ;)

Call after couple of weeks after NOA2 to find out if NVC received your petition.

If it's been more than 2 weeks, send email to NVCResearch, with your scanned approval notice, for them to try to track it down. Don't expect response for a few weeks.

If it's been more than 4 weeks, send email to NVCInquiry and start some searching back with USCIS yourself.

After NVC receives it, call back after 7-10 days to get the case number.

Once you have NVC case number and IIN, you can email DS-3032 right away.

They will send you email with the invoice when it's ready on the payment portal. The email usually arrives just when the bill is available online. Or you can keep checking the portal to see when the invoice appears.

You will not get IV bill invoice until DS-3032 is accepted. And again, when it's accepted, you will received an email with the invoice and the portal will show it right away.

From which source did you hear that?

I see that you received a checklist on 07/03 on both packages. Maybe yours was showing in the system since 07/08 because they started the review earlier when they generated the checklist? Or are you saying "since Monday" because they received your checklist on 07/08 and the checklist papers were already showing in the system?

Couldnt access my AOS coversheet online, so they emailed it to me. (came within a day)

Question is, which address do I use? They are both indicated in the email, just confusing on which one to use.

Just called NVC and got informed that my case is complete. Yiieepiee dancin5hr.gif

NVC received both packages (AOS & IV) on 20 June 2013.

Thanks to everyone posting in this forum. I got a lot of useful tips and was able to estimate pretty acurately, when my case would be reviewed.

Just some additional info I would like to share in return:

I called NVC last week and the could not see if my packages were received (Operator said only once the actual review starts, is when they put it into their system).

I tried logging into https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx today and got the following message (previously it would just show the status of my payments):

" Please be advised that the case that you have attempted to access is not eligible for further processing by the National Visa Center at this time. Please contact the National Visa Center if you believe that you have received this message in error."

When I log in to https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx it still shows "At NVC".

Logging into the payment portal https://ceac.state.gov/CTRAC/Invoice/signon.aspx still works and shows PAID status.
