Good evening all,

Once visa has been approved at the Us embassy, is there a certain code or something that the IO needs to copy from the DHL confirmation sheet in order to have passport with visa delivered without complications? In my case the confirmation sheet was printed out and IO asked if I had it but he did not look at it. I am thinking that he may have forgotten to look at it and take down whatever code would have been required.. Could you share your experiences please?

Thanks in advance

If you handed in the copy of your DHL confirmation sheet at your interview then you don't have to worry they will take care of it. You can track your case online to know whats going on with your visa.

Just make sure you had chosen a DHL location as either Kingston or Mo Bay and that the officer took the copy from you. You will soon get a Waybill #, in our case they emailed him the number as DHL picked it up

Wow! The IO asked me if I registered but he did not look at or take the sheet from me.. He may have forgotten. This is gonna cause complications in relations to the passport delivery right?

When the IO asked If you had registered you should have handed it to him/her but you can have the error corrected now before it gets too late. What I Would advise you to do is email them and outlined what took placed on the day of your interview please make sure to give your case number and you can scanned and email the DHL confirmation sheet them and then they will respond to you, or you can call or email them to get an appointment to drop it off at the embassy to prevent a delay receiving your visa. As vross wrote it's better to assing a pickup location whether Kingston or montego Bay

Seems like they missundertood you so just in case as the previous post suggested make sure you email the scanned copy to them asap to KingstonIV@state.gov with the case # in the subject line after you make sure you registered for courier location, but yea go ahead and email it to them just in case.

In my case the officer asked me if I had registered with DHL and I said yes, and offered a copy he said he does not need a copy. He gave me a piece of paper (more like flyer) that has the website (https://usvisa-info.com) that you should go to see the waybill #.

Once you get on the website>> Select immigrant visa applicant>>Jamaica>> click on sign in>>Check the disclaimer box>>Enter your Passport #, Date of BIrth>> Click log in and then you will see the waybill #. Click on the number and you will be able to track the package. Also once the package is given to DHL you will receive an email with the waybill number from the Embassy.

Hope this helps

Wow! So they did not have to copy anything off the confirmation sheet in order to have my passport delivered? I followed the steps you provided but there is still no waybill# available. How long does it usually take to generate? I thought the IO had to have a copy of the sheet to have the passport delivered without complications.

No they don't need anything from the confirmation sheet. To check on the status of your visa you should go to http://ceac.state.gov enter your KNG# once you see the status says 'ISSUED' then you can expect the package to be delivered soon. For me it took 7 days this included 2 public holidays.
