Got my appointment letter yesterday, but for me to take time off I will loose attendance bonus and a days pay, which is not a problem and will do if I have to, but has anyone experienced an Early walk in or know of anyone doing this at the Detroit office?

This really depends on the office in question. We tried an early walk-in in New Orleans, and once in San Francisco. The New Orleans office sent us back, saying we had to be there only on the appointment date. The SF office had no issues with an early walk-in (in-fact our center was not even in SF, but was in New Orleans). They processed the biometrics no questions asked.

I would recommend you try it out and see for yourself. The worst case is that they ask you to come back during your designated time.
