I am currently living in Egypt and putting together our packets to send out, but have a couple of questions:

1. For the AOS packet, we are using my brother who lives in America. What is the process for sending his documents? Does he need to send it to us in Egypt first and then we send it to NVC? Do we send our packet to him and then he adds his documents and then send it to NVC? Can we send them separately?

2. For the IV App packet, I need the original/certified copy of the document plus a photo copy. Do I need to make photo copies of my cover letter, the application and the additional page to the application as well?

3. Read threads about sending packets in separate envelopes, but both in one courier envelope. Anyone experience problems with this? I would very much like to send it together as it would save lots of money.

Thanks in advance

1) as long as your brother has the bar coded cover sheet and writes the case number on the top of each page, then they should be properly added to your file.

2) Only the documents like divorce decree, birth certificate, and marriage certificate (documents that you want returned to you) need to also have a photocopy

3) you can certainly send both packages in the same courier envelope. Just be sure you have their individual bar coded cover sheets.

With Egypt---you should keep a copy of EVERY piece of paper you send them and bring it to the interview.

Many people sent both smaller envelopes in the same big envelope but addressed the smaller envelopes to the different departments

You need your brother I864 and tax transcripts and the form he signed to send it in.

You need to write your CRO case number on almost every page of the packets you sent to NVC

Who will pay the NVC the fees for the IV packet (I-864) and the ds-230? Will your brother use his american checking account and pay it for you online?

You already have had your file at nVC over a month. Time to get it in gear to get the HECK outta THERE (egypt!!) lol

He will need extra certified copies usually so play it safe and get extra copy of everything

Good Luck
