And yet, Texas has one of the highest crime rates. Odd, ain't it?

I was told by my drill sergeants, that only steers and women who wear comfortable shoes come from Texas.

If Zimmerman is acquitted, will communities be able to create their own armed "neighborhood watches" and exterminate certain undesirables, given the precedent established here?

I say no, either way,

as gated communities already have in place -

the rental patrol... and most of these patrols already carry weapons.

the cool thing about 'gated communities' ??? certain undesirables cannot get past the gate.

It's a gate, after all.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

So the essence of your statement appears to be that Zimmermann really had no reason to worry, did he? Martin was inside the gated community. So clearly, he would not have been an "undesirable", yes?

i studied the map, also. i not see any gated community.

what i did see, was an apartment complex that had been converted into condos.

that's not a gated community, at all.

that's a rehab'd apartment complex with a fence around it, masquerading as a condo complex.

You must have looked at something else then. The Retreat at Twin Lakes was originally built as a gated townhouse community. It was never an apartment complex.

Say, if the community isn't gated at all, then what would you call these structures at the entrances?

A Neighborhood Watch sign stands outside the gated The Retreat at Twin Lakes community where Trayvon Martin was shot by George Michael Zimmerman while on Neighborhood Watch patrol last month in Sanford, Florida

Police secure the gates of the Retreat at Twin Lakes, near where Trayvon Martin was shot by neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman, in Sanford, Fla.

I do not find it odd at all that the crime rate in Texas is lower than California or Illinois or DC do you?

Gives you something else to 'teeheehee" about while you figure out how to explain it

Okay, so you can't really answer the question why all this toughness on crime still leaves Texas in the leading pack among the states in crime rates. Noted.

I never referenced Texas' ranking in the states nor did I relate the two things. You did. Otherwise you beshat your unwelcome opinion into the middle of a Texas / California discussion

I know I did. And you responded to it with an unrelated observation. Which is all I pointed out. Y'all a bit slow down there in Texas, eh?

Crime and demographics around the country has been discussed at length on this board. I am not going to slow down to the point that I have to explain it all to you again like some daycare storytime

i don't get it.
