You provide a written/signed statement (each of you) that you are intending to marry 90 days upon fiance/e entering US. You can have some preliminary places/ceremony details (full blown wedding at hotel X, court side wedding in County Court Y, etc). Just don't book anything if it means $. Assume 9-11 months end to end and you would have approximate dates.

Welcome to the forum.

At the K-1 visa petition phase of the process, the beneficiary and the petitioner have to include a letter of intent (refer to Page 2 of the Form I-129F instructions for details) with the Form I-129F petition submission. Read Part D of the Form I-129F about penalties, certification and petitioner's signature. That and your other evidence is usually enough for USCIS at this stage of the process.

The general forum recommendations about wedding planning is to NOT make any reservations/non-refundable deposits without having the actual approved visa in your passport in your hand. Check our signature block for an idea about our wedding plans.

Good luck on your visa journey.

You can't "prove" you are getting married, at this point you each complete a Letter of Intent and sign them.

The GUIDE has details and examples for the I-129F, K-1 process.
