Dear all,

I got received the receipt number for my CR1 visa which starts with MSC......, is it correct because I have been checked my case online but it says : invalid receipt number... so I dont know what it means. My husband have called USCIS and they said its correct and the website has problem they havent updated it yet!!! and now I heard that for K1 visa, CR1 it will take longer on the US side, it will be 13months on the US then few more months on my side, is it correct that they changed the processing time? it has been 3 months already since we applied CR1 visa.... we are worried now cuz if it how it said online then we will be apart and not see each other for 17 months ......

I'm not sure what you mean by on the "US Side"

Your I-130 application will take roughly 4-6 months on avg to be approved.

Then, you're at NVC for roughly 2 month (these days).

Then, getting your interview depends on your country

Check this list here:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/433566-july-2013-interviews/page-47

to get an idea of how long it takes to get interview from NVC case complete.

Hopefully there's some Vietnams on there.

Your case not showing up is not abnormal.

Just continue to call USCIS every few weeks and speak with a tier 2 supervisor to get a status on your case

There is an issue with their website. Some people can check their status online while some can not. Your receipt number is the one that starts with MCS which also means it is at the National Benefits Center (NBC).

As far as the website, have you ever been able to check your case online? If it has always shown invalid receipt number then this is very common since they are having problems with their website. However, if you had been able to check your status online before and now it has changed to invalid status then there will be a change coming to your case soon most likely.

When you call and speak with Tier 2, you should ask them the date it was sent to NBC and which NBC center it is at. Also it might have also been sent to the local office so make sure to find out which office it is at. When you know which office your case is at and the date it was sent there, you can then research some information on here about how long cases are taking to be approved at that office to see if you are within the norm.

Right now I would say you are still within the norm if you filed in March or April. For more people to be able to help you better please fill in your timeline so we know when you filed. There are also threads on here you can read for the month you filed. People with the same filing time can help you with questions and also give more accurate information since they filed at the same time.

Hope that helps.

The case was immediately sent to NBC and it's really not of any concern to know which NBC center it's at.

It's most likely at a local office by now which, yes, can be found by speaking to a tier 2 supervisor.

3 months is VERY w/in normal processing.

3 months would be fast. 6 months is the median (middle). IMHO anything under 6 months is quick, anything under 4 months is fast! Anything after 8 months is slow.
