Where is Packet 3 sent to?

Hi there, can I get confirmation from you fellow members as to where Packet 3 is sent to? I am under the impression it gets sent to the beneficiary in the foreign country where the Consulate has the paperwork. I called the consulate and they stated that the packet was sent on the 17th of June. I then asked to what address it was sent and the rep. told me it was sent to my address (petitioner) here in the states. He did sound like he was doubtful though... Now why would packet 3 be sent to me when my fiancee is the one that will be needing that?

Anyhow, for those that have received Packet 3 already, where was it sent? In my case it has been 2 weeks and have not received nothing at either address. :(

Thanks....

I got ONLY e-mail from US embassy from my country, stating that THERE`S NO MORE PACKET 3.

They are sending only e-mail with information what you need to collect.

When you collect all they have asked for, you should call them and arrange your appointment.

That is not how it works for Juarez. They do not email you. They send a letter in the mail.

Not in our case, they said he wont be receiving anything, it will all be mailed to me. We didnt put his adress because we knew it would take a weeks for mail to arrive where he lives.

That is your case. I was responding to what you posted, "i think its supposed to go to the beneficiary." The letter actually gets mailed out to both the USC in the US and the beneficiary in Mexico. However, the mail in MX is terrible and a lot of people never receive it there.

As a supervisor for The US Postal service. Most problems we get is mail being lost in Mexico periid. Rather regular certified or even registered. I sent my fiancé a letter and card before valentine. This year a month early. Well i had visited in March and guess what. That valentine arrive almost 2 months late. And I asked why so late ? He said the uS takes for ever. I showed him my work badge and showed him the day I metered that letter and also that we had processed it. Mexico has very bad mail service

They really do. It is horrible. I had stuff delayed by months, lost and stolen. I gave up mailing things to my husband. He never received the letter from CDJ either, of course. He thinks it is crazy how much Americans complain about the US postal system. It actually works pretty well.

What do you mean by you did not put your Fiance's address. You had to. In the I-129F there is a section where it clearly asks for your fiance address in Mexico. I assume this is the address CDJ uses to send Packet 3... It they send some sort of notification too both addresses that would be a relief.

Thanks for the link to your previous comments and links to additional resources. You are saying that for Mexico in specific, they no longer send an actual packet of forms but rather an acknowledgement letter indicating that they have received our case from NVC and they provide you with links to forms to be filled out and some other additional instructions right? If the consulate no longer sends forms tailored for an applicant's specific needs and they rather just have you download/fill out forms online then I guess we could start ahead and continue the process while the letter gets here. As long as we have confirmation that CDJ has the paperwork we should be OK.

I understand the fingerprint appointment and the interview appointments are made through a VISA website they got setup. Does this means there is no longer a Packet 4 being used?

A lots of processes are being changed lately is hard to keep up as the guiding documentation is not updated quick enough.

Nope we didnt put his adress, its a small town in mexico, they dont have street names. We put the city where he was born, and where he has been living the past 5 years but no actual adress, we put my adress instead so that I can receive it. I went to an office that does all this immigration stuff, and thats what the lady told me to put.

Yes, you can get all the numbers you need from the NVC, fill out the DS-260 and all the other forms, even pay and schedule the appointments before receiving the letter.

I am not aware of anytime CDJ used a packet 3 and 4. As a matter of fact, they used not even have appointments. You were mailed an open appointment invitation letter. You could pick which day you wanted to go and show up early that morning, get in line, wait and have your fingerprints taken there before your interview at the consulate all in one day.
