Hi! I'm new to this! My fiance and I sent our petition in on May 28, 2013 to Texas. I received an email on June 4th that it had been accepted and routed to Vermont. A few days later, I checked on the online status and it said that it was in the "Initial Review" and our "Alien Registration number has been changed." All of this was dated on June 7, 2013. Should we have received our first NOA1 by now????

Was there a receipt number, beginning with EAC, in the petition receipt email you received on June 4th? If so, you are good to go, that is really all you need at this stage. Sit back and wait...study the guides and the regional forum.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Guess I'm just nervous because everyone seems to be posting that they received their NOA1 after a week it was received. However, I did receive the receipt number and I've been checking the site daily for any updates or changes. Nothing since June 7th. But thank you for your help! This website is so nice and comforting that so many go thru this same process and that it's possible! :)

I think you're good... I had the same thing happen to me in February, but you'll most likely wait a while before you hear anything else. Not to be discouraging, just patient. :) It helps to read everyone's experiences...I'm with you!

If anyone is able to answer this question about my situation, I would appreciate the feedback. I just received a second NOA1 on June 28 stating that my case has been transferred back to Texas from the Vermont Center, and that I should follow the processing times for that center. I originally sent my case to the lockbox facility in Texas and they transferred it to Vermont in February. I have been waiting since February 7th for a NOA2 or RFE, but instead received this letter. Does this mean that my case was incorrectly transferred to Vermont and without any change of status for nearly 5 months, but is now being reviewed in Texas and I will have to wait another 5 months? I looked up the processing times for Texas but there is none for Fiance visas...which is why they transferred it to Vermont in the first place, so I thought. Has this happened to anyone else or does this mean that something is possibly wrong with our application? Thanks for the help...

It was not transferred 'back' to the TSC because it was never there in the first place. ALL I-129F petitions are mailed to the Dallas Lockbox address. That is an intake facility, and not the the TSC. From that facility the petitions are checked and sorted out to either the CSC or the VSC. Since the VSC became so backlogged, they recently started transferring cases to the TSC, which had not been processing the I-129F petitions in recent years. That is why there are no processing times for the I-129F listed for the TSC. The K-1 Progress Reports forum is full of posts from those recently transferred.
