Hi all,

I applied for my spouse to finally come to the US after we married last year during July.

On May 24th, I received I a notice that our case has been complete at the NVC and I will be notified once I get the interview.

Its almost July and I have not received any email/letter/notice saying when my husband's interview will be.

I know that there are others waiting just as I am and maybe it has been longer for them. But I am worried. The situation in Afghanistan is worsening. I am a bit worried about that more than anything.

Can someone help me out?

Love

Meera

First of all let me say welcome to VJ. Is your case at the Kabul embassy? Because on your timeline you have Armenia as your consulate. If you go to the Afghanistan Portal you can see in the visa time line that there are about 5 people from Afghanistan that are also waiting for their interview dates since May. My fiance had his interview on the 29th of May and he said that there were about 30 to 35 people being interviewed on the same date. I think that they are going to be scheduling all of you guys on the same date. Have you tried to e-mail the embassy about the statues of your case. Good luck and hope that we all hear something soon from them,,, Our case is in AP right now. Take Care

Hello,

Can anyone please tell me what the next step is:

The authorized consulate (Kabul Embassy) have received my fiancee's case (k1). We have submitted the DS-160 form as well. It's been a little over a month and I have not herd anything from Kabul Embassy about Interview date. As far as interview scheduling go, I believe the Kabul Embassy does that. I am not exactly sure though. If different, please help me to correct this.

Hello Afghan 321, Welcome to Vj

How did you get the DS-160 and how did you submit it? Usually the embassy will e-mail you the interview letter, with an interview date and all the forms (packet 3) when they are ready for your interview.. As far as how long it takes them to contact you it varies from case to case.. Our's only took one month after they received our case, but others have waited months to get an interview date. So can't really tell you how long it will take.. But they will e-mail you the interview Date once they are ready for your interview. Hope this helps you.

Hello,

Thank you for your prompt response Myra&Ashiq. I Just got an email about my interview date! Thank God, I'm so happy. However, I do have some concerns about further process. Unfortunately I don't have a job as of right now, I got laid of work roughly about a year go.

My concern is providing Affidavit of support (i-134). I am indeed aware of co sponsorship and I have a family member that is financially stable who is welling to sponsor my Fiancee.

Could anyone please explain how to go about filing i -134 or possibly provide me with instruction on how to complete this documentation.

Thank you

Hello Afghan321,

If your not working right now you would need your co-sponsor to fill out the I-134 form and also you would need to fill one out as well.. Make sure that you get this done ASAP and get it to your fiance by the time of the interview because they need the original signed forms for the interview. The forms are very easy to fill out they have the instruction right here on VJ if you look it up under forms and then go to example of I-134
