What is the vietnamese term for the police certificate for the i30 package? And are there different versions?

There are many names used for this police cert. and yes there are different versions. For the i130 version #2 is needed. Version #1 is an old one and no longer used for this purpose. The names of this police cert are: Police Certificate #2 = Justice Record #2 = Phieu Ly Lich Tu Phap so 2 Obviously the last name being the Vietnamese name for it.

03/18/2013 - NOA1

06/05/2013 RFE issued

06/25/2013 RFE recieved in mail

06/28/2013 RFE requested docs. sent to USCIS from abroad

07/08/2013 RFE entered into USCIS system as received and "RFE Review" status online

07/16/2013 NOA2 received by email

07/19/2013 Email from USCIS stating case file has been sent to NVC

07/27/2013 Hard copy of NOA2 recieved abroad (Vietnam) by mail

NVC:
08/02/2013 Received NVC case number via email

08/02/2013 Sent DS-3032 via emial

08/05/2013 Paid AOS ($88) fee

08/19/2013 DS-3032 accepted by NVC

08/26/2013 Paid IV ($230) fee

09/04/2013 Completed new DS-260 Online in place of the old (DS-230 paper form)

09/10/2013 I-864 Sent

10/04/2013 Check list

11/02/2013 Check list

12/14/2013 Case Complete

12/30/2013 Interview Scheduled for Feb 25 2014

If you are filing in HCMC they will tell you 20 days to process - no surprise but it is taking longer. We are at about 30 days, I was expecting two months so I'm not worried yet - as if worrying would do any good! My wife has been in HCM since she was 19 and in one other province prior to that, so it shouldn't be too difficult to obtain all of the necessary clearances. Shouldn't...key word.

They are using the correct form (#2)...

September 8, 2011: OPTIN email accepted, GZO number assigned
September 10, 2011: Emailed AOS package
September 12, 2011: IV bill invoiced
September 13, 2011: Paid IV bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 14, 2011)
September 14, 2011: Emailed IV package
October 3, 2011: Emailed checklist response (checklist generated due to typo on Form DS-230)
October 6, 2011: Case complete at NVC
November 10, 2011: Interview - APPROVED!!!
December 7, 2011: POE - Sea-Tac Airport

September 17, 2013: Mailed I-751 to CSC

September 23, 2013: Received NOA1 in mail (receipt date September 19th)

October 16, 2013: Biometrics Appointment

January 28, 2014: Production of new Green Card ordered

February 3, 2014: New Green Card received; done with USCIS until fall of 2023*

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

Typically yes you need to have a report for all places she has lived. However, I am not sure at what age you need to worry about, if it matters at a young age. Sorry I don't know enough about this situation to answer more. I am sure someone here will be able to answer this question.

Does anyone have any additional insight into this? My wife lived in Ho Chi Minh city from age 16-20 but never officially "registered" she did not have a license and worked for her uncle. I'm not sure how the justice department (so tu phap) would be able to provide a police certificate for her if there is no proof that she resided their for this time.

there is no term for the I-130 package.

Why? a police certificate is never submitted with the I-130.

Plan Accordingly.

Since yer right at the edge of submitting the I-130, I say -

don't worry about this stuff until the I-130 is approved, as the police certificate is not needed until the DS-230 is prepped for submittal into NVC during NVC doc intake.

Do NOT get the police report too early in the process. This report is only valid for around 6 months give or take. If your i-130 petition takes a while to get approved then the police report will be invalid before you need it at the NVC stage of the process.

Wait until your i-130 is approved. It will then be sent to the NVC office. This takes about a month. During this month wait is the perfect time to get the police report ready.
