Hi,

I received my Biometrics appointment letter and the date i was given will be when im out of town. I was wondering if anyone has successfully changed their appointment date without to much hassle?

Should i change my plans to avoid any risk of complications?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks.

Shouldn't be but another way is to try to simply walk in. Take your info, I D ect to the location and ask if you can enter. Where I did mine they let people do this.

Rescheduling can delay the whole process. If you're unable to make the biometrics date, try an early walk in, first. Just take the biometrics letter and your GC with you and hopefully they can do your biometrics when you show up. I've done it early without any problems in 2 different states. GL!

i would just simply recommend a walk u take ur appointment letter along with ur id to your local uscis office and see if the will allow u to do it! bare in mind not all offices allow it< so if u go also bring any evidence of ur other business! say for instance a doctors appointment notice etc! good luck

As others have said, do a walk-in, but I would also take your travel plans with you to show them the reason for the walk-in. Most places are not very busy. I would avoid the 1100-1300 time period as that seems to be when they schedule people and have the least number on staff to help.

Good luck,

Dave

Nothing wrong with this but when I watched the officer at the desk never asked why. They just looked at the appointment book to see if they were too busy. The people were all allowed in when I was there but of course this is specific to the location and day.
